Director, Corporate Development M&A
Overview
The Director of Corporate Development will lead the sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, and execution of
mergers and acquisitions as Gopuff rapidly accelerates its expansion efforts across the United States,
Western Europe, and beyond. This is a great opportunity to be a thought partner on the Corporate
Development team and to evaluate strategic transactions related to geographic expansion, new vertical /
category extension, and technology capabilities acceleration in an exciting, fast- paced environment. It
may require frequent travel.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Gopuff’s strategy for inorganic growth, including geographic expansion, new vertical / category extension, and technology capabilities acceleration
- Identify, analyze, value, and execute strategic acquisitions, joint ventures, and partnership opportunities
- Lead, organize, and coordinate the due diligence process from term sheet through closing and integration
- Direct the negotiation of purchase agreements and other transaction related legal agreements alongside internal and outside legal counsel in parallel with due diligence
- Oversee and prioritize multiple concurrent projects
- Key thought partner on Corporate Development team working cross-functionally with members of the Business Operations, Strategic Operations, Finance, Real Estate, Legal, and Government Affairs teams
- Establish and maintain relationships with investment bankers, founders, management teams, business brokers, lawyers, and other deal sources
Qualifications:
- Ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, corporate development, business development, management consulting, or other related field
- Experience with entire transaction pipeline, from initial contact to post-closing
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including financial modeling and valuation
- Detail-oriented, well-organized, and enjoys solving complex problems
- A self-starter with the ability to exercise independent judgment and critical thinking
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others cross-functionally and at all levels of the organization
- Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships within the organization and with outside service providers and referral sources
- Must be comfortable working within a fast paced, team-oriented environment
