Director of Catalog Operations

This person will lead the Catalog Operations team of 20+ Team members. They will be responsible for vision, operating plans and overseeing day to day execution of the Catalog Item Data platform. This includes the retailer product catalog onboarding, Taxonomy/categorization, item accuracy, enrichment and day to day triage.
Role Responsibilities:
- Generally establishing goals and objectives
- Responsible for: hiring and team development; shaping and driving data projects onto the roadmap; joint prioritization exercises with business partners; successful delivery of projects; hiring and compensation decisions; team process and rituals
- This is a cross-functional communication role within Shipt; communication outside of Shipt is also common.
- Negotiation (shaping and driving) is common. Operating effectively in ambiguous situations and with ambiguous problems is necessary. Influencing OKRs and roadmap is a clear goal.
Role Requirements:
- Experience and background in Item data management, product content and/or taxonomy.
- Strong understanding of operational management (designing processes, monitoring outcomes, project management, continuous improvement, etc).
- Technical background in SQL; experience with Python; nice to have, but not required.
- Bachelor's degree
- Most people in this role will have 10+ years of experience and prior management experience - this role can have up to 7 direct reports
