What is the Director, Business Operations?

We are looking to add a Director of Business Operations to our rapidly growing team. This role will work closely with our Leadership Team and CEO to help the entire Clearcover organization scale efficiently and effectively and continue to deliver extraordinary results against our ambitious objectives. You will be accountable for developing, implementing and managing multiple strategies and systems for strategic planning, goal setting, and operational excellence across the organization, ensuring Clearcover can execute at the highest level possible.

What will you do as the Director, Business Operations?

  • Evaluate, design and manage strategic planning systems for the company 
  • Drive productivity and accountability within the organization through systematic goal-setting and achievement tracking… i.e. make sure we’re always raising the bar
  • Institute and manage tools, frameworks, and systems to ensure the right balance of speed and qualitative/quantitative rigor in team and individual decision-making
  • Leading planning and execution of company planning, business reviews, and other key stakeholder updates and meetings.
  • Help develop the overall strategy of the organization, pushing the company and your teammates to balance 10x thinking and operational pragmatism
  • Help support alignment and communication across all functional areas
  • Be a steward of our Leadership Principles, building and maintaining processes to ensure people live them every day. 
  • Leads Program Management Organization (PMO) to perform program budgeting, scheduling, monitoring
  • Reviews and updates processes as required to improve efficiency and quality of the PMO

What do you need?

  • Relevant experience in operations and management with high-growth companies
  • A team-first attitude and the ability to influence and earn trust across the entire organization.
  • Management consulting background or significant operating experience developing and implementing strategic plans is strongly preferred.
  • Strong experience in managing relationships with business leaders and executives, leading complex portfolio of engagements, enabling leaders to make data-driven decisions. Ability to engage with senior leaders and align as well as challenge their thinking.
  • A deep understanding of how to design operations around data (e.g. you obsess over how we collect, design, refine and improve key input and output metrics to achieve better-er results.)
  • The ability to challenge the status quo, map business goals to process design, and design/test new initiatives
  • A belief that “process” is primarily a tool to remove constraints, not create them
  • Direct communication skills; comfortable giving critical feedback and holding people accountable for results
  • Management tool and process enthusiast (e.g. you can easily name your top 3 management books/mentors and decision-making books/tools)
  • A passion for learning and improvement
