The Business Operations Director for the Project Management Office is responsible for ensuring Supply Chain, Procurement and Manufacturing Operations meets the needs of our Business Units (BU) and Global Product strategies. The Director will build a team of professionals to liaise with BU stakeholders and Product Leaders to understand key business requirements while collaborating with Global Procurement leaders, Manufacturing, Logistics, Planning and Engineering. The Director will then translate business requirements to the end-to-end Supply Chain. The success of the Business Operations function will be measured by internal stakeholder satisfaction and value realization in the form of improved cost, quality, service levels, risk, and innovation.

What Operations Management contributes to Cardinal Health

Operations Management is responsible for strategic oversight and leadership direction within the Operations function.

Accountabilities

  • Build and manage a team of Program Management professionals that act as the primary point of contact for their assigned business units.
  • Assist with the translation of business unit strategies into supply chain impacts (Procurement, Manufacturing, Engineering, Logistics as well as supply assurance, quality, regulatory, services, cost, and innovation).
  • Liaise between business unit stakeholders and global category leaders to ensure business requirements are defined, clearly documented, and addressed.
  • Utilize good program management practices to ensure projects within a business or category are managed on time, in scope and within budget.
  • Will program manage the "make versus buy" process for specific business requests.
  • Ensure delivery of projects through implementation of a formal Program Management Office.
  • Continually monitor and prioritize opportunities on business side and work with GPSC to ensure alignment of strategies and priorities.
  • Continuously improve the function by monitoring performance, steadily raising expectations, and adjusting the organization and business processes to achieve results.
  • Effectively balances competing constraints between business priorities and Operations objectives, using creativity to achieve both as much as practical.
  • Contributes to process excellence, bringing best practices to Cardinal Health and being a champion for change.
  • Become a trusted advisor to the Business Unit and Product Leaders.
  • Mentors team and less experienced colleagues to improve bench strength and succession plans.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience, MBA preferred
  • 10+ years' experience in related field (supply chain, procurement, product management, operational excellence, project management, etc.)
  • Operational Excellence Experience highly preferred
  • Prior experiences leading and managing within a highly regulated environment
  • Strong interpersonal, consultative skills, including experience leading a major change management initiative
  • Strong leadership and team building skills, along with the ability to work effectively in a matrix environment
  • Global experience in the healthcare industry preferred
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% if needed
  • A Covid-19 vaccination or a legitimate accommodation is required to be employed in this position.
