Overview

The Desktop Administrator is responsible for supporting user computing strategy, solution services, experience roadmap, and implementation plans to enhance endpoint experience and security.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for client computer systems including: hardware, interfaces, peripheral devices and, audio/video conference rooms
  • Acquire and install new software releases and system upgrades, patches
  • Resolve software related problems and monitors system configuration
  • Troubleshooting and repair of personal computers and related equipment, including: Mac/PCs, laptops, tablets, and video conferencing equipment
  • Manage PC lifecycle including: imaging, configuring, installing software, and maintenance
  • Manage/update Active Directory pertaining to PC configuration
  • Manage/Troubleshoot/Enhance Group Policy pertaining to PC & User configuration in conjunction with System Engineers
  • Proactively recommend requirements for new systems or modifications.
  • Manage projects including: analyzing requirements, product and vendor evaluations, planning, implementation, tracking progress, and communicating status and results to leadership.
  • Develops, documents, and maintains End User system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards.
  • Escalate issues, outages and incidents to management
  • Educate non-technical users
  • Create and maintain PC Images
  • Maintain PC Inventory processes



Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years' experience managing and supporting Windows desktops - registry, profiles, services and components, file system and application compatibility in an enterprise environment
  • A+ PC Certification or similar vendor certifications
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Active Directory
  • Working Knowledge and Experience with Group Policy
  • Working knowledge with scripting languages - PowerShell, VBScript, Batch
  • In depth Microsoft Deployment Toolkit
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Experience working with IT leadership in a strategic context
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills with ability to deliver technical information to non-technical audiences
  • In depth knowledge of End User Computing architectures, management platforms, and security patch management
  • Experience with creating and managing PC Images with multiple enterprise solutions during career
  • Experience supporting a remote, multinational workforce
  • Experience with Cisco Anyconnect VPN
  • Experience with Zoom or similar video conferencing rooms
  • Experience with supporting Google Workspaces
  • Experience with cybersecurity platforms on the endpoint - Antivirus, Web Filter, Spam Filter, Disk Encryption
  • Excellent documentation skills for maintaining existing and creating new
  • Experience supporting Custom web applications from an endpoint
  • Experience supporting IT Development staff



Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times and push a cart containing equipment.
