Better Real Estate company is simplifying the home buying journey for customers by providing them with the ability to partner with top performing real estate agents and providing them guidance throughout their home buying journey and simplifying their experience 

The Designated Broker will be responsible for the successful administration of brokerage operations in her/his state as well as gain additional state licenses to help with the expansion of the team. 

The growth of the real estate company is a key part of 2022 strategy for Better. As an early member of this business, you will play a vital role in shaping the strategy and operations for our real estate offering. This position will be assisting in all operational elements necessary to comply with the individual state license law, REALTOR association membership and MLS participation, along with the transaction review process and compliance training. This person will have an exceptional track record as a supervising real estate broker, an understanding of real estate brokerage at a state level and a collaborative approach. They must be a “people-person” but also possess the ability to implement systems and processes. 

As part of the Real Estate team, you will play a pivotal role in helping to shape and build out this business. You can expect to actively contribute in the following ways: 

  • Focus on quality control when advising on contract changes, contract composition and oversee all contract compliance.
  • Support the relationships between the brokerage and state associations of Realtors, MLS’s and Departments of Real Estate ensuring good standing with all memberships.

We are looking for a strong, process driven leader to develop our customer onboarding and outreach strategy from the ground up. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader, capable of making sound decisions while maintaining harmony in a fast-paced environment while supporting our inside sales teams.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Be an active member and participant in designated local and/or regional MLS and board associations as directed 
  • Be willing to serve as the designated broker on multiple brokerage entities in states where permitted/as needed 
  • Perform contract review to ensure legal and contractual compliance of transactions 
  • Notify licensees of any changes to state licensing requirements, bylaws or regulations 
  • Accountable for any broker to broker, MLS, state-level complaints – first point of contact and final responder 
  • Provide final sign off on any audits of closed transactions to ensure required documents have been transmitted/uploaded to DotLoop 
  • Develop, refine and implement brokerage policies & procedures 
  • This role is designated as ‘Remote Mode,’ and employees are not expected to report into a Better office at any time. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is not required unless fully remote employees attend an onsite, in-person meeting, office event, or otherwise interface with Better employees and/or customers in person.

About You:

  • Hold an active (or multiple) real estate broker license(s)  with up to date continuing education credits in real estate, management and legal compliance. 
  • High level experience in real estate compliance activities including a deep knowledge and understanding of legal obligations of real estate professionals under state and federal law, Department of Commerce Rules & Regulations, Department of Housing and Urban Development, the NAR Code of Ethics and MLS Rules and Regulations 
  • Consumer obsessed attitude 
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills across multiple mediums
  • High attention-to-detail and ability to multitask opposing priorities at high volume 
  • Focused, reliable, and a self-starter with strong critical-thinking skills 
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast paced, dynamic environment 
  • This is a full-time salaried position with benefits.
