Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be onsite full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.

Job Description
Overview:
In this role you will be responsible for leading and developing technical math data executions supporting math methodology and advanced template solutions. This activity is dependent upon a high degree of creativity and initiative in problem solving and leading multi-functional teams for issue resolution. You will perform as an expert in SMT Design and Engineering Best Practices, Manufacturing Requirements and highly skilled in GM CAD and Data Management System, Windows Suite, and VisMockup. You will exercise highly independent judgment and creative solution development with minimal direction from Leadership. Proficient in CAD Tools and owns the development of Math Methodology and parametric design, for the purpose of bettering the skills and efficiencies of the Engineering Design Body Organization.
You will be developing virtual vehicle integration solutions to support program requirements through morph and cluster events. You will work as a fully - qualified contributor who is dependent upon a high degree of knowledge and understanding of all aspects of virtual vehicle integration. You will exercise highly independent judgment and creative solution development with minimal direction from Leadership. You will have broad technical knowledge, training and understanding combined with creative and independent thinking and conceptual ability within the virtual vehicle integration through multiple cycles of the Global Vehicle Development Process. Strong knowledge in CAD and virtual related tools, software, and own the development of Standard Modeling Methods for virtual processes. Exercise independent judgment and creative solution development with minimal direction to support the future advancements
You will be responsible for the below tasks:

• Lead implementation and growth of templates on new programs and/or architecture
• Lead planning and develop cadence of template development and morphing activities
• Work with program DLT for template program sufficiency status
• Work with DGMs to develop and communicate program staffing requirements
• Work with DGMs to understand upcoming programs and identify scope of template implementation
• Lead template development of new parts and Subsystems within Upper Structures
• Lead template development and implementation in other commodities within the Body org
• Lead the discussions with leadership about pros and cons of templates
• Communicate effectively with leadership about resource requirements
• Develop strategic plans and processes about commodity specific template development and implementation
• Use lessons learned to advance the learning and adaptation of Math Methodology and template usage

Help drive the efficiency and effectiveness gains at leadership level
Lead the advancement of skills and abilities of existing resources

• Develop training and mentoring plans for existing template factory members to increase team's capability in template execution
• Define plan to enable resources to be self-sustaining template factory member

Define template factory short term and long term plan and strategic direction

• Develop and define workload for each resource
• Plan strategic direction to leverage opportunities for efficiency gains
• Monitor and report progress of Factory daily workload and future planning initiatives

Develop and implement template adoption plan
Actively look for ways to improve template factory

• Work with VEDO team to identify new enhancements that can be adopted in templates

Implement and/or refine the process to analytically collect the usage and efficiency of the Template Process.
Develop/Define process for Post P2 part modifications for templated parts
Work with other domains (CAE, Interior, electrical, etc.) with NX interoperability/associativity to improve design change propagation.
Additional Description
Qualifications:

• Preferred Bachelor Degree in Technical field OR equivalent experience
• Must have at least 10+ years of Design experience, Technical NX education or Mentoring.
