What are we looking for?

The Deputy CISO will be accountable and have direct oversight of the global teams covering Information Security Engineering, Security Operations, and Governance, Risk, and Compliance. They will report to the CISO and help drive strategy and key OKRs for the areas they supervise. A successful person will play a key role in championing SentinelOne’s emergency planning, application security, disaster recovery, and business continuity programs.  The Deputy CISO will represent SentineOne in interactions with customers, regulators and auditors to evangelize SentinelOne’s solutions in these key areas, and to advance Sentinelone's innovative approaches to meeting regulatory requirements while providing cutting edge world class security solutions.

The correct person will be the right hand of the CISO to drive security strategy and implement programs to keep SentinelOne’s cyber security program on the leading edge to mitigate risks to the company and its customers.  The Deputy CISO works closely with Cloud Operations, Development and other departments to ensure security requirements are met within all departments.This role will play a key part in our government offerings around FedRamp Moderate and High. 

What will you do?

  • Work with the CISO to help develop strategic plans and objectives for the information security program. 
  • Develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive enterprise information security program that aligns with strategic plan and compliance requirements. 
  • Monitor the external threat environment for emerging threats and advise relevant stakeholders on the appropriate courses of action. 
  • Manage security incidents and events to protect corporate IT assets, including intellectual property, regulated data, and the company's reputation
  • Provide regular and consistent reporting on the status of the information security program to enterprise risk teams, senior business leaders
  • Scale and manage teams to contrite best of class security through both organic and non-organic company growth. 
  • Keep abreast of emerging security trends, evolving threats, risks, and vulnerabilities along with the possible impacts to the company and with ways to mitigate risk as necessary.
  • Plan and manage budget allocations and associated financial forecasts relating to functional areas with direct oversight
  • Be a core member of the Office of the CISO’s leadership team which oversees the following functions areas;  
    • Corporate Security 
    • Information Security
    • Application security
    • General Information Technology
    • Enterprise Applications and Analytics
    • Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery
  • Manages cyber security incidents and events 
  • Works closely with the CISO and General Counsel to ensure alignment between security and privacy compliance programs including policies, practices and investigations., Is responsible for initial and periodic information security risk assessment/analysis, mitigation and remediation. Responsible for development and implementation of security risk management plan.


What skills & knowledge should you bring?

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressively more responsible experience in a combination of information technology or information security roles to include at least five years of leadership experience
  • Deep knowledge of cybersecurity technologies and best practices in addition to strong knowledge of information security risk management practices
  • Experience with information security frameworks. Knowledge of NIST, ISO, SOC 2, PCI, and/or Cobit. Familiarity with Cyber Security Assessment Tool (CAT)
  • Must have knowledge of privacy and data protection laws, regulations, and best practices
  • Broad knowledge of current trends in information technology and security including practices supporting Cloud, DevSecOps, and Data Analytics 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate information security and risk-related concepts to technical and non-technical audiences at various hierarchical levels, ranging from board members to technical specialists
  • Excellent analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple initiatives under strict timelines, as well as the ability to work well in a demanding, dynamic environment and meet overall objectives
  • Ability to lead and motivate the information security team to achieve tactical and strategic goals, even when only "dotted line" reporting lines exist
  • Strong business acumen with excellent organizational, problem-solving, influencing, and negotiating skills. Excellent day-to-day operating management skills – ability to execute coupled with a disciplined approach and an ability to effectively manage risk
  • Professional security management certification, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or other similar credentials
