The Opportunity: We are seeking a full time Deposit Operations Manager to join our team. In this role, qualified candidates will provide day-to-day oversight to the operations team for all aspects of the Credit Union's deposit operations. Provide leadership to ensure quality service and regulatory compliance. Manage vendor relationships necessary to complete daily functions. Provide oversight of third-party request completion, such as subpoenas, garnishments and levies, and ensure deadlines are met.

What You'll Do:
  • Manage operations team that handles processing, balancing and reconciliation of incoming financial files, including image files from branches, mobile banking, ATMs and Alloya, incoming ACH and returned check files from Federal Reserve, originated ACH files from Q2, Zelle transactions from Fiserv, LockBox deposits and US Mail.
  • Provide effective leadership, supervision, mentoring and coaching to the operations team. Manage staffing, recruitment, scheduling and performance management. Develop staff to build knowledge and expertise, ensure they have required training, and are cross trained to cover other's job duties.
  • Manage daily ACH activities to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to NACHA rules. Keep abreast of changes to NACHA rules and Regulation E.
  • Manage daily check processing activities to ensure compliance with Federal Reserve Bank and ECCHO regulations.
  • Oversee the wire transfer process ensuring that policies and procedures maintain the highest level of authorization security to protect unauthorized movement of funds.
  • Ensure timely and accurate adjustments to member accounts.
  • Proactively review processes and workflow to identify, recommend and develop procedural and system related opportunities to increase efficiency.
  • Interact with business partners and vendors to ensure optimal performance of software, equipment, upgrades, testing and personnel.
  • Develop, implement and maintain operational procedures to maximize efficiency and quality work.
  • Maintain a high level of subject matter expertise for daily operational functions and make exceptions to policy or procedure as needed.
  • Manage adjustment process of assigned bank accounts and general ledgers associated with daily processes. Adhere to internal timeframes for reconciliation and reporting.
  • Maintain administrative controls and access to specialized software and correspondent bank relationships.
  • Responsible for Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity planning and implementation.
  • Prepare and monitor Deposit Operations statistical data.
  • Provide general administrative direction including assistance with department budget and recommending and implementing programs and policies.
  • Attend seminars and conferences to achieve or maintain professional accreditation.
  • Participate in daily operational duties.
  • Participate in projects as assigned.

What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Four years financial accounting experience.
  • Five years financial services operations experience.
  • Five years supervisory experience.
  • ACH certification or the ability to obtain the certification.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical, math and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to utilize technology to solve business problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including effective verbal and written communication.
  • Consistent positive, cooperative, self-motivated, courteous and professional attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and meet policy-imposed deadlines.
  • Record of accomplishment and career growth.
