Job Purpose:
The Cybersecurity Advisor is a liaison between Corporate Cybersecurity, and our business partners to help understand their operations and maintain global security processes.
The Cybersecurity Advisor develops collaborative relationships and provides expertise, technical guidance, and security awareness to facility locations.
Consultation
- Provide consultation on Cybersecurity objectives and compliance with relevant security standards, policies, and procedures.
- Serve as trusted advisor to effectively communicate complex IT risk and security issues in a manner that is easily understood and actionable.
- Advise on processes and methodologies required when evaluating purchased product solutions, developing new internal solutions and outsourcing any IT system or activity.
Cybersecurity Awareness
- Support the Caterpillar Cybersecurity Awareness program.
- Identify needs for customized awareness messages specific to business areas.
- Assist with development and presentation of messages aligned with Information Security directives.
- Participate in and support Security Awareness Month activities.
- Third-Party Risk Assessments (TPRA)
- Work directly with third-parties to complete industry standard questionnaires, documentation reviews, and in higher risk cases on-site reviews,
- assessing the maturity of their information security function across ISO27001 domains.
Computer Incident Response Team (CSIRT) Support
- Assist incident response needs within area of responsibility in the event of an enterprise CSIRT incident.
- Communicate appropriate incidents to the CSIRT team.
- Maintain points of contact to support CSIRT needs.
- Detailed Knowledge & Understanding of the core business functions and Processes
- Collaboration and leadership skills with other business teams
- Project Mgmt. Skill/Exp.
- Knowledge & capability to identify the significant business risk and assist on developing the remediation strategy with business Partners
- Capability of building business relationship and business engagement with BU Customers
- Support 3rd party risk assessment process and be engaged with solution purchasing process
- Develop Awareness Training and Support Awareness Program
- Assist Risk Owner for Risk Treatment Plan
Basic Requirements:
- Detailed Knowledge & Understanding of in multiple Cybersecurity domains
- Experience in security, integration, infrastructure system administration, or support work
- 4-year college or university degree in Information Technology, Computer Science and or related field of study and a minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience with Cybersecurity related majors
- Certification from an accredited security organization is preferred. (e.g. CISSP, CISM,CRISC, ISO270001LA,etc) Equivalent experience may be substituted for education.
