Job Description

The Cyber Security Administrator II is responsible for administering information security systems and platforms to reduce risks, respond to incidents and limiting exposure to liability and risk with regard to technology systems, networks and applications. This role defines operational policies and processes and utilizes technical skills and expertise to administer multiple platforms and diverse system environments. This position will work closely with management, infrastructure teams, database teams, and other cyber security team members to ensure cyber protections for network, server, workstation, and database systems used by all areas of the organization. They also identify internal and external computer risks and vulnerabilities and recommend processes to reduce or eliminate risks. This role ensures users are informed and in compliance with Banks policies, procedures, and standards, as well as appropriate local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

How You'll Spend Your Time

  • You will work with extended information security team and technology partners to administer cyber security technologies that ensure the security and confidentiality of the organization's information assets.
  • You will evaluate current operational activities and processes for potential improvements, coordinate with team members, and implement process improvements.
  • You will monitor and tune the security systems to achieve optimum performance and ensure requirements are met including capacity and performance.
  • You will manage the daily operation of complex multi-user systems.
  • You will provide the administration and support of new and existing applications, platforms, and products.
  • You will create and maintain system documentation.
  • You will identify and resolve complex problems in a timely manner in support of production needs.


Education & Experience Requirements

The required level of knowledge is normally acquired through a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Technology or a related field, and 3 years' experience in Information Security or related technical field, or 4 years Information Security experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong critical thinking skills to evaluate processes and procedures, identify process improvement opportunities, and create alternative solutions.
  • Excellent technical troubleshooting capabilities and the ability to perform root-cause analysis.
  • Deep experience with Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems including administration and troubleshooting in a complex production environment.
  • Broad experience with information security and computer network/system technologies, concepts, and theories.
  • Extensive experience with firewalls, intrusions detection/prevention systems, DLP systems, vulnerability management platforms, data encryption, and other industry-standard security techniques and practices.
  • Thorough knowledge of cloud-based application and security systems including AWS and Azure/M365 environments.
  • Excellent understanding of security controls, monitoring systems and regulatory/business drivers that impact security policies and practices.
  • Proficiency with programming and/or scripting languages.
  • Experience working in the financial services industry or other highly regulated/compliance oriented environments.
  • Proficiency using PC/LAN applications- word processing, spreadsheet, data management, database, e-mail, platform, etc.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including oral and written communication skills
