Customer Support Specialists (CSS's) are often the first contact a customer has with Tektronix and a critical element in our strategy to retain current Customers and influence new and existing customers purchasing decisions. In this role, you will be responsible for working with internal and external customers to ensure quality customer interactions. You will serve as a liaison between departments and advocate customer needs and issues, ensuring compliance with Tektronix business practices. A Customer Support Specialist will use active listening skills to resolve needs and interests of potential and existing customers. CSS's respond to a variety of customer inquiries including products, parts research, order status, lead times, logistics, etc. These inquiries are handled through email, instant messaging, and phone calls.

CSS's partner with our field sales team to actively participate in developing and maintaining relationships with Tektronix customers. They handle sophisticated inbound calls and inquiries from external and internal customers and lead our customers' expectations and experience in a way that results in high customer satisfaction. We are seeking a Customer Support Specialist to join our team in supporting our Americas sales operations.

Essential Capabilities (knowledge, skills, abilities & personal attributes)

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to optimally multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated
  • Able to demonstrate advanced communication skills within a team environment and capable of working in an independent setting.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, and standard Internet applications
  • Experience Oracle or other similar ERP systems
  • Excellent telephone skills for handling moderate to complex outbound calls
  • Outstanding organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Flexibility within team environments
Job Requirements

  • Respond to customer inquiries via Inbound/outbound phones, e-mail, and instant message
  • Quickly and accurately create quotes and respond to RFQ's
  • Quicky and accurately book orders
  • Proactively track order status and advise the customer of delays
  • Process customer complaints and returns according to company policy
  • Manage orders from booking, holds management, and through shipment
  • Export compliance screening
  • Hard copy purchase order entry and validation
  • Provide order acknowledgments
  • Process partner stock
  • Coordinate with the regional order manager, logistics provider, and customer to ensure rapid and accurate order delivery.
  • Collaborate with field sales, credit, logistics, and supply chain to continuously deliver a great customer experience


Work Experience

  • 3-5 years working in customer service, technical support, or inside sales
  • Experience with Oracle preferred
  • Experience with Dynamics 365 preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration preferred
  • A high school diploma or equivalent with appropriate experience will be considered
