The A&S Customer Development Lead outlines the technical direction of multiple projects within the A&S organization; has a strong technical background and proficiency in PS sealers, LASD, structural adhesives, BS anti-flutter and fire protection products for automotive and battery applications.
What does the A&S Lead do? In this role, you will:

  • Act as project leader and deliver technical solutions to meet customer needs and support business growth for Adhesives & Sealants market in Americas; tackle sophisticated technical challenges, and ensure needs of customers are addressed
  • Support product development group by identifying key requirements and tests for customers; drive new product development projects outlining project plans for validation; investigate customer complaints and other technical tasks supporting the existing business
  • Provide regulatory support by working closely with regulatory teams to outline individual customer requirements and define analytical test matrices to support customer requests / requirements
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to drive continuous business improvement; be the technical liaison to global team(s) to transfer new products to Americas and localize formulation strategies; and review other global technologies/products to assess opportunity to deliver value in Americas.
  • Build competitive intelligence by understanding current and future customer/market needs and competition dynamics

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science or Chemical Engineering required
  • 8+ years of experience in product development and customer technical support
  • Strong understanding of adhesives & sealants formulations, manufacturing process, applications, and OEM testing requirements including in-depth knowledge in urethane, epoxy, acrylate and PVC chemistries and applications required
  • Strong project management skills. Lean/Six Sigma Certification is preferred (Greenbelt/Blackbelt)
  • Position requires travel (25%)
