Position Summary

Performs full functioning communications work by handling radio traffic both to and from patrol officers and other departments being monitored; Answers incoming on-campus emergency and non-emergency telephone calls from NPPC associates and other law enforcement entities; Works both broadcast and desk operations entering, retrieving and disseminating information in the Resolver program and any other computer systems including, but not limited to, REJIS, Simplex, Genetec, and RedSky technologies; Employee may be involved with performing the operation, maintenance, and construction of the key components utilized throughout Purina property.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Dispatches patrol officers by radio in response to requests for services according to established priorities and procedures.
  • Maintains location and status of all mobile units with computer aided dispatch (Resolver).
  • Utilizes the approved Resolver program to dispatch patrol officers crime networking for services as needed, and as requested.
  • Log daily activities into the computerized incident tracking program (Resolver) to record each incident, including location, persons involved and as much detail as possible.
  • Operates radio system to maintain constant contact with officers on a main radio channel, while monitoring multiple other channels.
  • Provides vehicle information with the use of limited REJIS portal.
  • Answers emergency telephone lines and obtains detailed information necessary to dispatch proper emergency assistance and life saving equipment, as needed.
  • Ability to communicate calmly under pressure to organize emergency response during events such as, but not limited to, active shooter, fire, medical emergencies and natural disasters.
  • Answers non-emergency telephone lines and responds to inquiries from associates, visitors, and members of multiple departments.
  • Maintains security for Purina headquarters by monitoring cameras in key areas of the property; assures all entrances/exits are secure after hours; making regular safety checks of on-duty patrol personnel.
  • Ability to utilize and leverage the Security technologies currently on-site, as well as the willingness and ability to implement future technologies. These include, but are not limited to Genetec, Simplex, Metasys, OnSolve, RedSky and others as required.
  • Ability to communicate quickly and effectively with outside support personnel, including Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS.
  • Responsible for accepting items for lost and found articles on campus, ensuring all items are logged, tagged, and proper documentation is made.
  • Ensures equipment issued to patrol officers is signed out properly, as well as returned and accounted for.
  • Assists with maintaining accountability of the contract Security staff with proper documentation and reporting.
  • Utilizing Genetec to verify employee badge status, maintain access control and other activities as required.
  • Contributing to Nestle Continuous Excellence by ensuring that accurate data is entered into Resolver.
  • Managing emergency response, maintaining access control and monitoring cameras for two additional Purina locations, including Purina Farms and the Chesterfield Hangar.
  • The ability to utilize Microsoft Office tools as required.
  • Performs related work as required.
  • Ability to work various shifts, weekends and holidays, including extended hours as required.

  • Conscious use of discretion and the ability to discuss sensitive issues.
  • Ability to stay calm and in control under stressful working conditions.


Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency
  • 3+ years of verifiable work history in law enforcement communications, security operations communications, or a related field.
