Coordinator, Resource Coordination

National Grid is hiring a Coordinator, Resource Coordination in our Electric Construction and Maintenance department in Buffalo, NY.

Job Purpose
To manage construction work and resource assignments in the most efficient, cost effective way to meet the work plan for National Grid based on workforce availability, performance, geographic optimization and schedule optimization.
Key Accountabilities
- Produce schedules in support of the internal construction work force in accordance to the main work plan.
- Work with resource planning to monitor resource levels, capacity predictions, productivity, and plan progress to make resource recommendations and analyze trends.
- Conduct a weekly schedule coordination meeting to assure all stakeholders are aligned and attend divisional meetings as needed.
- Monitor equipment maintenance records and schedule preventative maintenance in a timely manner in accordance with governmental regulatory requirements.
- Ensure material availability and coordinate deliveries to support construction and equipment maintenance.
- Implement best practice in resource management to ensure all work and safety standards are compliant with National Grid and union policies and regulatory requirements.
- Prioritize and monitor work progress through each phase of construction.
- Manage the day-to-day relationship with contractors and other external service providers to ensure adherence to processes, standards, and best outcomes for National Grid.
- Challenge existing ways of working and continuously seek ways to improve, driving greater efficiencies within resource management.
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
- Experience of managing project teams and projects independently.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in an engineering/business related field or equivalent job experience
- Minimum 3 years of related experience
