Compliance Governance Manager at Checkout.com
Checkout.com is actively looking for a Compliance and AML professional who will oversee the various state and federal exams. The position is based in one of our corporate US offices or remotely and will require the potential candidate to work closely with key-stakeholders across all business functions and regulatory bodies within the US.
The ideal candidate will be a confident individual with strong interpersonal and organizational skills and one who is able to demonstrate the ability to effectively and proactively exercise good judgment and partner with the business in a fast-paced environment.
What You Will Be Doing
- Collaborate with the Compliance department and partners throughout Checkout to oversee state and federal exams
- Organize and communicate exam item requests to ensure timely responses
- Work closely with other internal functions and teams to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Carry out tasks as instructed by the Head of US Compliance, and/or Head of Group Compliance
- Develop reporting to address material issues related to US Compliance
- Provide oversight and compliance guidance to local entities and business units to ensure risk management and mitigation policies are adopted and adequately addressed
- Participate and manage in Group wide and local AML/CTF related projects
- Contribute to the maintenance and review of policies and procedures, including ensuring they are up to date with all regulatory and best practices
- Highlight any potential concerns/risks and proactively share best risk management practices
- Maintain awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and appropriate steps to mitigate the risks
About You
- A college degree preferred with minimum 5-8 years working experience in AML/CTF, compliance, internal audit or risk management within financial services industries
- Excellent attention to detail, problem solving skills and a flexible approach to work
- Knowledge of the US regulatory framework
- ACAMS certification will be considered an advantage but is not required
- Strong analytical skills with experience in problem solving and being able to implement and deliver solutions
- Good organizational and cross-team collaboration skills
- Willingness to expand technical knowledge in a broad range of projects
- Team player with strong collaborative qualities and a positive demeanour
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present analysis and recommendation
- Reliable when working independently, with sound judgment for when to escalate issues
