Overview

The Senior Compliance & Benefits Specialist will support benefits administration in addition to compliance and LOA.  


What You’ll Do: 

  • Manage the process to onboard and offboard employees from benefits
  • Participate as a co-lead the Wellness ERG
  • Create and distribute monthly benefits newsletters
  • Respond to benefits related tickets
  • Monitor, review, and report on AbleTo’s compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations. 
  • Coordinate and complete governmental, internal, and audit compliance reporting (EEO1, OSHA, BLS, other agencies, customer audits).
  • Track laws and regulations that might affect the organization's policies and verify organizational practices to ensure compliance with those laws for all jurisdictions.
  • Manage the leave of absence process, including explaining leave to employees, documentation, tracking. 
  • Respond to ADA requests for accommodation working through the interactive process. 
  • Update the employee handbook to comply with changes in laws or AbleTo policies/procedures. 
  • Manage distribution of employment law posters and state law notifications. 
  • Maintain an internal state law database
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Who You Are:  

  • Minimum 5 years experience in benefits administration
  • Strong knowledge of HRIS, compensation, benefits, payroll, federal and state employment laws.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, ability to work very effectively with vendors, brokers, and coworkers.
  • Proven success to develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results.
  • Self-directed and motivated, taking initiative to identify and anticipate client needs and make recommendations for implementation.
  • Relevant Technology industry experience is a plus.
  • Credible SME; able to inspire trust, build credibility, and create successful relationships.
  • Proficiency in Excel including working knowledge of Macros and Pivot Tables
