At FOX13 Memphis, we believe in using our powerful voice to benefit families in the Mid-South. We are currently seeking a Community Affairs Manager. For this important position, you must be devoted to the betterment of our community. You will organize station-sponsored events and work with charitable partners. You will passionately organize our team in all areas surrounding community service. You may also be called on to coordinate video shoots and capture interviews for stories about our public events. This is your chance to combine your heart and your hands, daily, for the good of our community.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Organize community events under the umbrella of FOX13 Family Focus
• Foster strong community relationships
• Solicit partnerships with local businesses
• Coordinate sponsorable events with Account Executives
• Create stories to air during newscasts to support station events
• Lead staff to create meaningful and creative stories to support major events including Black History Month, Read Across America, Hispanic Awareness, Breast Cancer Awareness, Food Drive, School Supply Drive and our Season of Giving
• Schedule news anchors for community events
• Cultivate relationships with Creative Services to develop promotions to support efforts
• Account and track all community events for FCC filings
• Create internal communications for all station sponsorships
• Coordinate video shoots and craft stories to support station initiatives

What we look for

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

• Degree in communications, marketing, or related field
• Strong organizational skills
• 4 years of experience with charitable organizations
• Must be able to bring together different work groups for the collective good
• Must value a diversity of voices to build strong journalism
• Excel under pressure
• Prior experience working in a newsroom or in public relations preferred but not required
• Strong local contacts are a plus
