Job Description
New hires in office-based roles in the US & Puerto Rico will be required, subject to applicable law, to demonstrate that they have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or qualify for a medical or religious exemption to this vaccination requirement that can be accommodated without an undue burden to the operation. The Animal Health IT Commercial Value Team is committed to strategize and implement digital solutions and services to increase customer engagement, optimize customer experience and create opportunities for measurable commercial outcomes with incremental revenues informed by rich, data driven insights.
In collaboration with the Animal Health IT Commercial Value Team Lead, the Business Technology Partner will be responsible for all Animal Health IT activities in support of Commercial Operations in the North America region, being the single point of accountability to define and implement capabilities to meet the strategic and operational business objectives.
This position will have senior business relationships (SVP, VP, and ED) and managerial responsibilities for staff on a direct and shared reporting relationships, participating as an active member of the Animal Health IT Commercial Value Team leadership team contributing to shape the future direction of the AH Commercial IT organization, people strategy, technology and value realization.
This position has overall responsibility for multiple activities to ensure successful:

  • Achievement of US Commercial business outcomes.
  • Drive Integrated value-based investment approach and program / project planning across a complex IT portfolio.
  • Delivery and pull through of prioritized business outcomes, driving delivery and execution through US and global solution delivery capabilities.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with North America Regional senior leaders to align the business strategy with required technology investments, building a high-performance engagement model with business partners.
  • Providing leadership for design and implementation of strategic, aligned and compliant solutions to support business initiatives bringing current knowledge and future vision of technology and systems as related to commercial competitive position.
  • Prioritize portfolio investments to drive value-based strategic opportunities, leveraging existing commercial and digital platforms and/or introducing new innovative solutions, using a continuous improvement mind-set.
  • Managing regional demand, portfolio planning, forecasts and updates across the region and facilitating demand aggregation and prioritization of activities, sharing of resources and expertise for projects and support.
  • Partner with finance and IT portfolio management organizations to achieve operational and portfolio budgetary commitments.
  • Align regional demand with available AH-IT platform solutions, strategic plans and architectural directions and standards leveraging; build awareness and support for available AH-IT platform solutions, balancing standardization and simplification of the IT footprint.
  • Provide leadership and manage a team of individual contributors who directly support regional commercial technology needs and help execute programs to enable business outcomes.
  • Interact and facilitate relationships with other internal and external IT organization to align on priorities and to ensure effective delivery of solutions and services needed by the region.
  • Continually assess team talent and sourcing strategies and define, execute, and monitor against people management plan with strong focus on Diversity and Inclusion.
  • Travelling up to ~25% of the time.


A successful candidate for this position will frequently demonstrate an ability to:

  • Understand, harmonize, and prioritize business capability needs defining value-based initiatives to drive proper investment planning.
  • Communicate, articulate and deliver a cohesive regional Business-IT strategy and provide leadership and coaching to teams executing on solution delivery and business outcomes.
  • Partner with regional business units to plan and orchestrate business readiness and adoption of commercial solutions and related process changes.
  • Strategic thinker ability with an innovative mind-set to develop, articulate and build support around a long-term vision, with strong operational and delivery skills to implement accordingly.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills to excel in achieving goals with and through others, who places great emphasis on collective achievements of shared objectives

Education:

  • Prefer a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related discipline


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of IT experience in commercial, sales & marketing and supply chain processes and systems
  • Prior working experience with senior business leaders (SVP, VP, and ED)
  • Prior working experience in managing a team of account mgrs or business analysts
  • Prior working experience as a customer focused business partner with demonstrated account management skills and strong relationship management capabilities.
  • Prior work experience translating business strategy and requirements into IT capabilities and services.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact, negotiate and effectively influence Business leaders.
  • Prior working experience managing /coordinating projects and services across national boundaries and to build effective cross-functional teams is essential.


Preferred Skills/Knowledge:

  • Awareness of change management methodology at scale.
  • Experience with both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies and their application in the Commercial context.
  • An M.B.A. would enhance the candidate's qualifications.
