CNO's Worksite Division is hiring a COBRA Specialist to Serve as a first responder for COBRA service hotlines. Additionally, this role is responsible for the day-to-day administration of COBRA participants for our clients. The COBRA Specialist will maintain the daily account activities for participants.

As a COBRA Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
  • Printing, reviewing, and mailing COBRA notifications on a weekly basis.
  • Interacting with clients, Cobra enrollees and carriers over varying product lines.
  • Responding to detailed questions regarding eligibility, legislation, billing and claims issues.
  • Communicating with Administrators, Brokers & Human Resources personnel.
  • Updating and creating the appropriate notifications for open enrollment.
  • Processing and recording all payments received by mail.
  • Prioritizing tasks and keeping a continuous relationship with clients and internal resources.
  • Responding to email requests inn a timely basis.
  • Identifying service problems, then developing and delivering solutions to customers to meet expectations.
  • Supporting and servicing new and renewal accounts.
  • Partnering with the COBRA Manager, you will assist in gathering all facts and documents utilized during the sales process and implementation process.
  • Assisting with the management of other Specialists' workflow to ensure the success of the COBRA department.
  • Accessing carrier systems to view and update eligibility information when required.

The COBRA Specialist position is well-suited for you if you:
  • Have benefits knowledge and the ability to apply that knowledge to assist clients with their websites and enrollment system inquiries.
  • Handle and resolve issues with all types of callers.
  • Commit to 100% accuracy for data entry.
  • Multi-task efficiently and effectively.
  • Communicate with others professionally through accurate spelling, proper use of capitalization, punctuation, and sentence structure.
  • Can train call center specialists as needed.

Qualified candidates will have:
  • High school degree or equivalent; Associate's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in benefit administration and COBRA.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

At this time, CNO is not mandating its associates to be vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment. However, this is an evolving situation, in the future CNO may require its associates to be vaccinated as a condition of employment, subject to reasonable accommodations required by applicable law.

CNO Financial Group offices reopened in April 2022 and we will be pursuing a hybrid working model. Associates who live within a 60 mile radius of a corporate office (Birmingham, Carmel, Chicago, Philadelphia, Orlando and Milwaukee) will have access to come into that Office up to 2 days/week, and work from home at least 3 days/week. This role is full time work from home (WFH), also known as Remote. This role can be performed from any US based location within the central or eastern time zone. Work cannot be performed from outside of the United States.
