Job Overview

The Cloud Operations Manager will lead team a focused on delivering best-in-class cloud technology and support at AvidXchange. The ideal candidate should be highly people-oriented and can motivate and lead a diverse team in a highly collaborative, distributed environment while advising and driving the maturity of a multi-cloud strategy.

Job Responsibilities

• Overall accountability for the team that supports cloud environments and co-located infrastructure, cloud systems & networking engineering, infrastructure reliability, operating system support and maintenance
• Drive multi-cloud operations strategy and migration initiatives, including multi-cloud monitoring and supporting assessment of infrastructure and environments
• Establish relationships with site reliability engineering, Platform/DevOps engineering, product, architecture, and software engineering teams to align cloud transformation and operations efforts
• Drive strategic projects to ensure execution, budget, schedule, quality, and other business objectives are met
• Build and revise processes to increase consistency and reduce churn
• Manage and prioritize multiple competing priorities serving as the Product Manager of the active backlog of work, covering projects, maintenance, and production support work that may include after-hours on-call support escalations
• Innovate, simplify, and drive the evolution of technology solutions, in collaboration with architecture and various stakeholders as technology changes
• Establish a repeatable model for onboarding newly acquired cloud environments through mergers and acquisition
• Enable a flexible working model allowing the ability toscale and contract the team as business needs/demand fluctuate

Required Experience & Qualifications

• 5+ years of technology-related experience in systems/network/site reliability engineering positions
• 2+ years of experience leading technical teams
• 10+ years in technology roles
• Agile experience and experience with multiple cloud providers (Azure, AWS) and datacenter/cloud migrations
• This person must be a confident communicator, able to influence and build meaningful relationships inside/outside of the department
