The Cloud FinOps Manager has a strong background or interest in building successful developer-facing products and has expertise to work with various teams for enterprise-wide transformations involving Cloud Service Providers. They will be responsible for Cloud Financial oversight and coordination of various activities to develop product roadmaps and drive desired outcomes within the cloud governance function with a focus on spend transformation and cost optimization.

The Work Itself

  • Create metrics, reports and recommend remediation options, plans for financial excellence in the cloud
  • Engage regularly with various stakeholders to educate on Cloud Cost financials and enable to make most cost-efficient choices on the Cloud Platform
  • Develop and deploy solutions leveraging serverless components hosted on AWS cloud technology to provide insightful reporting
  • Deliver end to end solutions including Planning, Design, Development, and Testing
  • Perform analysis, create decks and present regular operational reviews to leadership
  • Contribute educational content and tutorials to advocate financial acumen and effective cloud resource management
  • Lead a team of engineers to support development and deployment of new features in the Cloud FinOps space
  • Lead and own the agile delivery process, and as part of that help size stories and own, research and recommend new solutions
  • Provide actionable insights to various stakeholders to help optimize their cloud costs
  • Being passionate about your work, your teammates' success, and our customers' needs



The Skills You Bring

  • Preferable Certifications: AWS certified cloud developer or relevant certifications
  • Deep understanding of cloud-based services usage and pricing
  • Knowledge of financial principles and business analytics
  • Expert knowledge (5+ years) of application and AWS (cloud) architecture and related technologies
  • Comfortable building solutions as an individual and as a leader of others concurrently
  • Excellent technical documentation capabilities (e.g., data models, process diagrams, high level designs)
  • Strategic thinking abilities and an enterprise-wide perspective
  • Automation and Scripting (Python, Bash, Groovy, etc.)
  • Ability to analyze and produce meaningful insights from large datasets

It's not expected that any single candidate would fulfill all these characteristics. For instance, we have wonderful team members who are really focused on their customers' needs and building continuously available environments, but didn't work on banking systems before joining Ally.
