Job Description

Summary:

The Clinical Support Specialist has primary responsibility for training and supporting Radiation Therapists and Dosimetrists in the safe and effective use of our systems. This includes on-site support for go-live and upgrades, and on-call support for customers. Additionally, the Clinical Support Specialist supports a wide range of cross-functional activities within Accuray, including clinical sales support, development testing, technical document review, and providing subject matter expertise for training, sales, and marketing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides phone support, on-site support and training, as needed, to ensure customers can effectively utilize their systems to treat patients.
  • Participates in the development of user and support personnel documentation that will facilitate successful use of the company's products.
  • Acts as liaison between customers and marketing/development in providing suggestions for product improvements, enhancements, or corrections.
  • Provides clinical input and review of new products and proposals, representing the needs of the customer and of customer support.

Qualifications:

a. Required:

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a small but diverse cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment and with multiple projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, at a variety of technical levels.
  • Experience with treatment planning, treatment delivery, Linac QA, and other operations of an RT operation.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites and other locations. Travel of 60%-70% but could be as high as 85% and occasional weekend travel.

b. Preferred or Desired:

  • Prior clinical experience with either CyberKnifeÒ or TomoTherapyÒ products is strongly preferred.
  • Must understand the necessity and value of teamwork; ability to work effectively as part of a team and cultivate such an environment among reports.
  • Experience in a customer support role or training role for medical imaging or radiation treatment environment.
  • Minimum 5 years MDCB and/or ARRT preferred.
  • A creative and flexible approach to technical problem solving
  • Prior clinical applications experience.
  • Knowledge of Medical Physics principles and practices.
