Job Description

The Client Relationship Manager will leverage their Small Commercial insurance expertise to engage with customers and also lead/own the product portion of sales opportunities to ensure effective positioning of the solution’s value proposition and customer comfort with the product capabilities to support the ambitious growth goals of the product line.


Responsibilities 

Manage customer engagement activities for prospective and some existing clients within the Small Commercial and Casualty Underwriting solutions team.


  • Become fluent with and serve as subject matter expert on our Small Commercial and Casualty data and analytics products

  • Build first-person working relationships with prospective customers to move the sales process forward and with some current customers to ensure they are receiving highest ROI

  • Develop and present pricing proposals, product capabilities (proofs of concept) and training to both new and existing customers 

  • Provide product utilization reports, analysis of trends and recommendations on product solutions 

  • Serve as “voice of the customer” to assist in resolving any customer challenges between external customers and internal Verisk stakeholders

  • Act as liaison between internal and external customers in the continued development of and enhancements to both existing and new Small Commercial & Casualty products

  • Establish and maintain excellent internal relationships with sales team, product development team, and other Verisk family departments 

  • Take ownership and become a motivated advocate for your own contributions in helping to maintain the continued growth of the Commercial Lines Underwriting Department and Verisk as a whole

Qualifications

  • 5+ years commercial insurance underwriting, producer, or product management experience in a customer-facing role 

  • Quantitative background with a focus on high quality data and analytics 

  • Outstanding interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills. Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with internal staff and external stakeholders 

  • Understands the basics of technology and the convergence of software and data in support of automated underwriting and product delivery 

  • Self-starter comfortable digging into the details of a challenging quantitative problem to solve customer needs 

  • Comfortable speaking in front of a room full of industry executives but can also dive into the depths of product capabilities

  • Strong critical thinking, analytical problem-solving and negotiating skills; business creativity is a must 

  • Working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint 

  • Up to 30% travel
