General Summary:

The interfaces lead is a member of the mobile+ chipset systems and architecture team responsible for driving analysis and inclusion of new interfaces into product roadmap.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive analysis and inclusion of new and streamlined interfaces into product roadmap
  • Propose interface options and recommendations for chipset partitions as applicable.
  • Work closely with cross functional teams such as Standards, Hardware, Software, Customer Engineering and Test as well as industry ecosystem across global sites and time zones
  • Assess impact of new process technology on interfaces, especially in areas of IO voltage and pad strategy, leakage and die area
  • Consider system level impact of new interfaces, such as PKG size impact, PCB impact, signal integrity
  • Document and maintain interfaces KPI (such as power, speed, latency pin count) and competitive data, and provide updates to management and key forums as needed
  • Own chipset interface recommendation process and documentation template and oversee interface plan of record for each chipset.
  • Represent product engineering perspective towards interface standards activities.



Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 7+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in chipset partitioning analysis, semiconductor process technology, power grid and PMIC, IO pad design, signal integrity/power integrity analysis
  • Experience with mobile standards
  • Experience with mobile software
  • Experience with Qualcomm ICs
