Chief of Staff

Clari is hiring a (Director Level) Chief of Staff to help drive executive effectiveness & accountability, alignment, and discipline at scale. The Chief of Staff will serve as a trusted cross-functional partner to Clari’s executive staff and CEO. This role is perfect for someone with high EQ, exceptional communication skills & operational rigor. Clari’s Chief of Staff will report to Clari’s head of Strategy & Operations with a dotted line to the CEO.
This is a hybrid position, which will require the ability to be onsite in our Sunnyvale office on a regular basis.
Responsibilities
- Manage company & employee’s goals, methods & targets. Help the exec team create and translate the company goals into employee goals through Clari’s cascading goal framework: Goals (what), Methods (how), & Targets (measure). Partner with the departmental leaders to ensure their department has the proper cascading sequences. Collaborate with the HR team on making our goals transparent through technology (Lattice) & drive accountability through score-cards & leadership check-ins
- Support a world-class operating rhythm. Work across all functions to help drive the company’s operating rhythm and push the most critical company priorities and initiatives forward through operational excellence. Program manage key company events like the All Hands, Town Halls, QBRs, and support important leadership meetings with “pre-reads” and prep for offsites & board meetings
- Drive change & operational excellence. Manage programs as an extension of the executive team by working closely with cross-functional partners across sales, marketing, HR, Finance, product, engineering, IT, and analytics. Partner with teams to champion and drive change through enablement, planning, and execution
- Special Projects. Manage initiatives & projects for the office of the CEO. This may include board member agendas & follow-up, projects for potential investors, and or preparing specific materials for external CEO meetings
- Own the annual, quarterly, monthly, weekly calendar. Be one step ahead of everyone & always know what’s happening next. Spend time thinking through exec & company sequences. Ratify executive & company rituals such as QBRs and ensure the outcomes tie into continuous process and operational improvements
- Prepare executive meetings. Think through the sequence of topics for the exec team’s bi-weekly meetings. Ensure agenda items are appropriately sequenced, prioritized, time-capped, and prepared for productive conversations through agenda topic framing, goals, and data. Be the author of synthesized learnings, identify misalignment, and drive follow-ups
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Mgmt Consulting or B2B tech, ideally in a CoS position; Bachelor's degree is required and MBA is preferred.
- Communication skills; the ability to distill & summarize is a superpower
- Facilitation skills; you design thoughtful meeting processes/agendas and are skilled at chairing or facilitating meetings or sessions that make progress on high-stakes discussions with senior stakeholders. Must be able to see the forest from the trees, but also exceptionally detail-oriented
- High initiative, self-starting capabilities; the demonstrated ability to identify and seize opportunities for impact in messy, uncertain contexts without direction or oversight
- Structured thinker and polished presenter. Can think through systems and across departments. Skilled in the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences
- Exceptional collaboration skills, with the ability to develop strong relationships at all management levels, both internal and external, to Clari
- Confidence with an ability to motivate and influence internal teams to collaborate and achieve business success
- Ability to work onsite when needed
