This role will sit within the Business Operations & Strategy team and partner directly with our Executive VP of Engineering.
Business Operations & Strategy is a cross-functional team working across the whole company – including both product and operations. The team is a partner to the senior leadership at Coinbase focusing on high-impact strategic projects and data analyses.
This role will support Executive VP of Engineering. They will work directly with the EVP and engineering leadership on organizational effectiveness, internal & external communications, and special projects, and have accountability for key initiatives and deliverables owned across the organization. They will partner closely with our Product, Engineering, and Design (PED) Office, a group of cross-functional partners working to make the engineering team more efficient and effective.
- Structure complex, ambiguous technical & strategic problems for the Coinbase leadership team
- Help monitor and improve organizational health across our engineering team
- Drive content creation, including design, narrative and data analysis, for key internal & external communications, including team and company all-hands, newsletters, external appearances, and the Coinbase blog
- Analyze large amounts of information and data quickly and effectively to reduce complexity and make actionable recommendations for Coinbase.
- Partner with the engineering and business teams to use data & insights to make informed judgments.
- Steer large, cross-functional projects and build consensus with senior leadership across the organization.
- BA / BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience in any combination of
- Previous technical roles (e.g., engineering, data science / analytics, product);
- Chief of Staff role for a senior technical leader; and/or
- Top tier management consulting or investment banking firm
- Outstanding executive-level verbal and written communication skills
- Solid analytical and problem solving skills, with the interpersonal capability to ensure they are implemented
- Passion for solving complex problems, and building scalable processes.
- Comfort working in a high growth, constantly changing environment.
Nice to haves:
- Undergraduate or advanced degree in a technical field
- Previous Chief of Staff experience, especially for technical leadership
- Experience in cryptocurrency, consumer software, or financial services
