Chief of Staff, Document Workflows Group
Role Description
The Chief of Staff of Dropbox Document Workflow is a critical role with high visibility within Dropbox. In this role, you will lead key strategic initiatives and own communications to make the Dropbox Document Workflow org and GM & VP more impactful. You will also play a major role in helping the GM & VP maintain a pulse on the company and the Dropbox Core organization by surfacing critical information to the GM & VP in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
Overview
- Function as a strategic partner with the GM & VP to maximize business outcomes; work autonomously and drive the strategic agenda of Dropbox Document Workflow
- Collaborate with finance and leadership to align on headcount and budget needs
- Help establish accountability practices across the business and maximize performance through extending the GM & VP’s surface area and reach
- Oversee cross-functional, organization-wide projects or initiatives, bringing together multiple stakeholders to help drive decisions and ensure alignment
Strategy
- Drive strategic initiatives like M&A, cross-functional strategic processes, long-term vision/roadmap planning, working flawlessly in partnership with Commercial, Growth, Platform, Marketing and other adjacent areas where applicable
- Manage multiple cross-functional strategic initiatives from annual planning, owned by the GM & VP, in partnership with appropriate stakeholders
- Manage progress to goals through strategic analyses supported by data that tells a story
- Identify potentially disruptive opportunities and challenges on the horizon
Communications
- Utilize excellent verbal and written communication skills to represent and showcase complex business or technical concepts with senior leadership
- Own GM & VP’s communication, in partnership with the Communications team, to align on structured cadence and channels of engagement
- In partnership with Comms, AR, IR, StaffOps, etc., help the GM & VP prepare for speaking engagements by preparing any research, talking points, and context
- When needed, act as a delegate in meetings, representing the voice of the GM & VP faithfully and accurately
Culture / People
- Work with the GM & VP’s direct reports, VPs, HRBPs, and Core Ops to identify, surface, and execute on key areas of culture investment and organizational change
- Work with key partners in Recruiting to ensure that Recruiting is aligned on hiring priorities and we have effective reporting and accountability structures, including diversity recruiting
Requirements
- 8+ years experience; background in top tier management consulting or high growth technology organization
- Experience leading transformational org/team initiatives in a Cloud Computing/SaaS environment/industry a plus
- Creative problem solving (i.e. excels at identifying trends and patterns, developing root cause diagnoses, and using a diverse toolkit to address the root causes)
- Strong product with a strong ability to frame decisions and unearth critical logic
- Demonstrated experience leading high-impact projects for the business, especially those which innovate, improve business execution and/or span multiple products and teams
- Excellent time management, intentional prioritization, ability to maintain and curate backlog (for yourself and GM/VP)
- MBA or Bachelors Degree in Business (or related field) preferred
