The Chief of staff to the Chief Growth Officer (CGO) is a strategic thinker who will concentrate on evaluating growth opportunities for our North American business. This individual will work in lockstep with the Growth Senior Leadership team to articulate and execute overall revenue strategy across the US, Canada and also Mexico territories.
In addition to being a thought partner to the CGO, this individual will at times become a delegate on his behalf. The remit includes exciting and varied challenges across strategy, planning, business development, operations and more. In addition, the Chief of Staff will be relied on to monitor industry trends, provide thought leadership and ensure the CGO is ahead of industry dynamics.
The role requires that this individual owns planning for the growth organization as well as communications across the growth leadership team. The Chief of Staff will ensure that decisions are made based on thoughtful analysis, that information arrives at the right point across the growth organization, and that strategic priorities are executed flawlessly.
GumGum is looking for a Chief of Staff who is analytical while being able to roll up her/his sleeves and get the job done. It is paramount that the Chief of Staff be resourceful, a problem solver and collaborative with employees at all levels.
Position reports to Chief Growth Officer, Ben Plomion.

Responsibilities
- Work directly with the CGO to set the strategic direction and operational priorities of the company as well as the growth organization in the US, Canada and Mexico
- Partner with the senior leadership team and leaders from the growth team to drive strategic planning
- Conduct and lead data-driven analysis / synthesize market research to inform strategic decisions related to North America and the Growth team, with opportunities to present to the executive team
- Leverage internal data to create or validate sales strategies in fast growing verticals, product segments and other areas (e.g. mid-market sales).
- Lead strategic initiatives within the Growth team such as leading pilot programs for new products, etc. (video, gaming etc.)
- Own a variety of company wide projects including measuring progress and driving to successful outcomes
- Act as a proxy for the CGO, advising key leaders on best practices for getting alignment on decisions
- Work with leaders from the growth team on goal management and tracking
- Create executive revenue dashboards, presentations and board materials as needed.
- Monitor key industry trends across the adtech and marketing industry. The Chief of Staff will be expected to be in the know and provide industry digest to the CGO and senior leaders on his team
- Manage growth leadership meetings including, but not limited to, setting the agenda, providing insights and analysis to inform strategic conversations and tracking follow through to increase accountability
- Drive content creation and agendas for key internal and external purposes (Board materials, speaking events, key client meetings, growth team national calls and the like)
- Work hand in hand with the CGO’s executive assistant and ensure that the CGO’s time is spent wisely
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS or equivalent working experience from a top university
- Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) degree preferred
- 3-5 years of experience at a top tier management consulting or investment banking firm
- 2-3 years of experience working at a high growth tech company preferred
- High IQ with an inquisitive mind and passion to connect the dots
- EQ with significant experience and comfort partnering with and influencing all levels of the organization
- Team first professional with a passion for driving both strategic outcomes and operational accountability and improvement
- Personality profile to fit into high-growth, venture-backed entrepreneurial culture that requires teamwork and significant interaction with employees at all levels
- Ability to work collaboratively and in partnership with cross-functional teams to the benefit of GumGum
- Data and metrics-driven with experience analyzing markets and trends, anticipating and identifying opportunities, and developing insight at a strategic level
