Chief Information Officer

The Chief information Officer (CIO) for West Monroe will be responsible for leading our internal initiative to be digital, embracing the product mindset to enable our continued impressive growth and delivering the right technology solutions that allow our people to focus on driving value for our clients. In this highly visible role, you will be reporting directly to the CEO while defining and delivering information technology strategy and capabilities, with a key focus on being digital. You will be a key contributor to the firm strategy and planning process and will be responsible both for Technology operations and for technology and digital innovation which support the progressive and rapid growth of a disruptive digital services firm. A successful candidate for this role will be a highly collaborative leader who builds strong and productive relationships with all business unit leaders, acting as a true partner and making Information Technology a business enabler.
The CIO is West Monroe’s internal technology evangelist who brings progressive, digital oriented leadership as well as a strategic partner mindset. They should have proven success in discovering and implementing new technologies that enable a full digital employee experience, while yielding a competitive advantage as well as future growth.
Other responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:
Strategy & Planning
- Collaborate and build trust with Office, Practice, and Shared Services leadership to develop a strategic vision for technology and establish goals and priorities for digital solutions to meet the organizations needs while maintaining flexibility vs a one size fits all solution
- Lead stakeholder planning and strategy meetings. Ensure all parties are aware of strategic direction, risks, progress, and results. Coordinate the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future technologies and solutions
- Participate as a member of the executive team in governance processes of the organization’s architecture, software, master data management, network, and desktops
- Drive change and operational efficiency of West Monroe through process improvements, technology, innovation, automation, and leadership
Acquisition & Deployment
- Assess and communicate risk associated with technology-related investments and purchase
- Provide support for strategic acquisitions by providing leadership in the evaluation of technology platforms and post-acquisition integration planning
- Deploy infrastructure related to growth and expansion goals of the organization. Define requirements for new technology implementations and communicate them to key business stakeholders
- Maintain a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and systems
- Drive adoption of corporate collaboration technologies to help build WMP intellectual property
- Optimize costs of service through the appropriate mix of internal and external resources
Operational Management
- Act as primary liaison for the company’s technology vision via regular written and in-person communications with the organization’s executives, department leaders, and end users
- Lead the technology development and operational execution with an integrated cross-functional technology team including product owners, program managers, and IT operators to create a great employee experience
- Lead a people-first, fungible, high service-level oriented technology organization that provides the right tools and data at the right time
- Drive consistent communication across a cross-functional technology team
- Support and obtain ROI from technology related to capital expenses, including support for costs and benefits
- Support practice development by driving innovative use of technology through strong vendor and alliance relationships
- Supervise recruitment, development, retention, and organization of all technical staff in accordance with corporate budgetary objectives and personnel policies
- Perform an ongoing assessment of technology capabilities of employees and contractors
- Provide direct leadership in the 24x7 management of systems, software applications and technology operations
- Maintain security compliance and ensure equipment and software adheres to applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
The CIO must be someone with a strong cross-section of deep technology expertise across product engineering, infrastructure, security, data analytics, and SaaS platforms along with proven experience driving IT process and program management, governance, and strategy in a digital environment.
- Hands on Technology leader with a minimum of 15 years of demonstrated progressive accomplishments, ideally in a consulting or services environment
- Experience in planning, managing, implementing, and iterating on tech-enabled cross-functional processes leveraging an agile and human centered approach to support a nimble and fast-paced workforce
- Balanced experience with all aspects of technology, including custom and SaaS based application development, analytics, program/project management, infrastructure, and telecommunications
- Proven experience gaining support for initiatives through influence and use of business rationale; credibility through regular demonstration of providing real business value
- Near-shore and off-shore delivery experience preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and must be able to prioritize and organize the efforts of the technology team
- Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise
- Strong executive presence, interpersonal, and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
- Willingness and ability to travel 25% to our other offices to build relationships across the team, Shared Services, as well as our consultants.
