Category Specialist

Position Purpose: Support category leads develop and execute on their category strategy. Lead spend analytics, supplier metrics and collaboration. Administer category council meetings.
Support the development of positive contact with new and potential suppliers, and identifying risks resulting from product or market shifts
Assist in procurement process compliance and buying channel adherence for category-specific purchases and summarize non-compliant data
Assess and report proliferation of new, non-preferred suppliers within spend area
Conduct category research and analysis by gathering supplier market information through collaboration with research and analytics
Support the development and maintenance of category strategies, including preferred and diverse supplier strategy and buy channel strategies
Perform periodical spend analysis to track and review category performance using key metrics and actual vs budgeted spend variance
Assist in ensuring sourcing event strategies are aligned to the respective category strategies
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Sourcing, Procurement, or related field or equivalent experience. Master's degree preferred. 1+ years of experience in related field.
License/Certification:
CPM, CPSM, CSCP preferred
