Position Summary

We're a leader in the pet care category and part of the world's largest food company-so you can imagine our impact with pets is BIG. We focus our efforts to ensure we're at the forefront of consumers' minds and the experience they have at retail. You'll become a pet category expert and the face behind our Category Leadership Center of Excellence.

The Manager of Category Leadership is a foundational role within Nestle Purina's Market Development Organization (MDO), which serves as a hub for business excellence. This team partners closely with Sales, Marketing, and Shopper Insights to influence national strategies focused on driving shared value across retailer, consumer, and manufacturing. The Manager of Category Leadership is a unique role that allows you to shape the content, capabilities, and connection needed from a Center of Excellence. You'll be exposed to evolving influences, challenges, and opportunities shaping the Industry of Pet Care.

  • Collaborate, identify, develop, and maintain National Category Strategies that are linked to strategic frameworks and associated with 4P best practices
  • Lead the prototype and development of a proprietary assortment optimization tool (Saas) via Artificial Intelligence and Data Migration
  • Support the development and implementation of Category KPI's and Segment Insights through PowerBI
  • Be a subject matter expert that can provide category perspective to both Brand and Sales teams to enable a faster path in decisions and recommendations
  • Lead category operating priorities and support new item sales materials during annual business planning season
  • Deep understanding for the consumer, our brands, and competitive activity that allows for an unbiased recommendation both internally and externally
  • Maintain a set of learning priorities and ensure National Learning plan support for your segment


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years of experience in Category Management, Sales, Brand Marketing, or Consumer Insights
  • 1+ years of experience utilizing Syndicated Scan Data (Nielsen, IRI, PowerBI)
  • 1+ years of experience in consumer product goods
  • 1+ years of experience with Shelving Strategy, Product Assortment, or Sku Optimization
  • 1+ years of experience building or managing resources around PowerBI dashboards
  • 1+ years of experience with eCommerce and Omni-Channel environments
