Farmer’s Fridge is on a mission to make it simple for everyone to eat well. We serve healthy, handcrafted meals and snacks from our growing network of 400+ Smart Fridges (software-enabled vending machines). We are striving to change the food system from the ground up – one Fridge or delivery at a time.

We are a team that cares -– about the business, the impact our product makes, and each other. We are data-driven, innovative, and quick to move on a good idea. We are looking for people who want to collaborate in an entrepreneurial, inclusive culture and have a passion to succeed.

Our Team: As the Merchandising team, our goal is to drive revenue and achieve profitability targets across our fridge, delivery and retail network through a fresh, delicious and convenient menu offering. We are in the early stages of building the merchandising practice at Farmer’s Fridge and we are investing in the team to build out core competencies that will create value for our customers and company as we scale. We are a highly collaborative department that interfaces with Menu Innovation, Sales, Marketing, Insights, Technology and Finance on a daily basis.

Your Role: We’re looking to add an experienced Category Manager to the Merchandising team. You are an individual who is skilled at asking business questions, digging into the data and formulating menu strategies to support financial goals. You’re then able to put these strategies into action by setting the innovation priorities, driving assortment mix and managing projects with cross-functional stakeholders. You’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves to solve a problem, learn by failure and balance agile decision making with thoughtful analysis.

What You'll Do:

  • Set short and long term strategic direction for each menu category that supports revenue and margin goals along with long term company strategies and drive cross-functional alignment to priorities.
  • Translate financial goals, consumer insights, marketing initiatives and performance into assortment plans by channel through self-built models and by leveraging analysis tools.
  • Create product performance recaps and provide actionable insights and recommendations to influence product lifecycle decisions and manage performance to plan.
  • Drive pricing strategy for new innovation projects. Inform ongoing pricing strategy through consumer insights, competition and supply chain landscape. Manage price tiers across category, verticals and channels.
  • Create and manage the innovation calendar and all corresponding milestones across key stakeholders
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis to inform and support business opportunities, priorities and projects

What Your Background Might Look Like:

  • 3-5 years of relevant Category Management or Buying/Planning experience in the retail/eCommerce, grocery or CPG space. Finance, strategy consulting or operational experience are a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel and Tableau
  • Experience building and managing models, tools and processes from scratch and adapting them to scale with the business
  • Flexible and resilient working with limited resources, ambiguity and changing priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Proficiency in effective communication of goals and strategies across multiple leadership levels of an organization
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and teams and drive results
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to see the 30,000 ft view and dive into the details. You can identify opportunities and anticipate risks or issues before they arise
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and help a teammate or solve a problem
