Capacity Specialist - Intermodal
Werner is looking for a Capacity Specialist to join its Intermodal group. The main purpose of this position is to develop capacity and provide sales support for the Intermodal Division. Furthermore, the role will support our international drayage pick-up and delivery services; end-to-end-services for ensuring a client's shipments are properly setup with appointments; drop & picks; live load/unload. We're looking for a candidate that is familiar with the Intermodal business and is looking to be a part of a great team.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The job functions listed below represent the essential job duties and responsibilities of the above-listed position:
-Understand the freight flows for carriers out of the assigned area and incorporate those flows into the organization.
-Work with Account Executives to review current business for brokerage opportunities; specific lanes/pricing needed to load capacity: and participate in sales calls, where appropriate, to sell
brokerage solutions.
-Work with Customer Service to identify specific capacity needed to support the current customer base and review existing freight for potential conversion to brokerage solutions.
-Transition new carriers to regional offices for day-to-day support.
-Assist in resolving any carrier issues that arise such as freight payment, insurance, etc.
-Support the regional offices in maintaining the brokerage pricing matrix used in the RFP process.
-Manage regional capacity to support "pop-up" fleet opportunities and communicate those opportunities within the organization.
- Develop an understanding of the aspects of our TMS to optimize process flow
-Additional related duties as assigned by supervisory personnel
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing, Management, or Transportation/Logistics, or equivalent experience preferred.• One to two years sales experience preferred • One to two years of transportation experience required. • One to two years of P.C. experience required.
