Overview
The Business Support Analyst II in the Production Support team at PennyMac is a key analytical resource who will participate in high impact analysis and reporting activities to enable the company's mortgage fulfillment operations. This is a person who is very comfortable working with big data sets and can leverage the advanced capabilities in Excel (or Google Sheets) and use his/her database skills to develop, streamline and automate analysis and reporting.
This role is an exciting mix of analytical and problem solving activities. The analyst will be primarily responsible for creating the analytical artifacts that help drive our operations. He / she will participate in a broad variety of departmental activities including special projects, planning, ongoing initiatives, and conduct data integrity, compliance, and operational efficiency analysis and reporting.
Job Description

  • Provide analytical support for Strategic Planning initiatives as well as creating, producing and reporting on applicable metrics and key performance indicators
  • Create and produce regular reports that track results and serve to hold the division accountable for meeting defined targets
  • Develop ad-hoc reports, work with the applicable stakeholders and provide context to reports
  • Serve as a point person to interact with internal and external clients to facilitate various complex projects and presentations
  • Assist business units with developing interim business tools to facilitate increased efficiency
  • Support the Operations team with data analysis and problem solving
  • Provide general administrative support for the division as needed
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned
  • Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization's desired culture and values

Ideal Candidate will have the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field required
  • Must be highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint. SQL familiarity is strongly desired.
  • Must be a team player with strong attention to detail and able to work independently
  • Strong business acumen and ability to interface with executive management
  • Proven track record at delivering timely and accurate information in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively manage competing priorities
  • Must possess superior analytical skills
  • Financial Services and, if possible, mortgage industry experience preferred
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, mathematical skills and sound judgment
