Overview:

BDC Services is a team of associates who provide a variety of services for multiple teams within the Benefit Distribution Center. This entry level position handles tasks with high turnaround times that play a critical role in the success for the teams they support. The contributions of this position require a high level of attention to detail, problem solving, innovative thinking, data entry skills, and a strong desire to meet customer's needs.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Verify claim payments throughout the day for accuracy and that proper protocol has been followed.
  • Partner with Accounting associates to ensure all attachments are sent to them to mail with Claim check.
  • Perform various tasks that are integral to the success of all units within the BDC. Return original documents upon request, prepare and process correspondence for front end imaging, process system image failures, research and index claim incoming mail, split document images, monitor emails sent to department email, etc
  • Create online system claim record for Group, FIG, and Individual products. This includes accurately entering claim data and clarifying or obtaining additional information as needed.
  • Contact policyholder and/or administrative departments for claim paperwork and detail needed to process a claim.
  • Process requests to escheat funds to ensure proper handling of unclaimed funds.



Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize and handle a large volume of diverse service requests within a teamwork environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail, thoroughly and accurately completing work to meet established deadlines.
  • Proven customer service skills to meet the needs of internal and external customers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to research check discrepancies and make decisions with minimal direction.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Data entry skills on multiple systems.
  • Ability to learn new products and procedures and apply knowledge in a rapidly changing environment.

Physical job requirements:

  • Ability to utilize keyboard, mouse and computer for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week.
  • Ability to utilize telephone for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to perform grasping tasks throughout the entire work day (examples: handwriting, grasping of equipment/machines, paper manipulation, sorting, folding, handling stacks of paper).
