The BizOps team plays a pivotal role in this mission and solves some of Credit Karma’s most important business problems.  BizOps leads are embedded within our verticals and collaborate with a cross-functional team to lead strategic & operational initiatives that have a direct impact on our business.  We drive operational discipline and clarity on performance to make verticals & Credit Karma successful at achieving our objectives.  We are a team of highly-collaborative and action-oriented individuals that strive to enable financial progress for all of our members.

We’re looking for a Director to partner with our Credit Cards vertical and serve as the BizOps lead on their leadership “Core” team.  You will also manage other members of the BizOps team who work with other verticals at Credit Karma. 

What you’ll do:
  • Collaborate with the General Manager of the Credit Cards vertical to manage key operational processes, help make data-driven decisions and identify opportunities for growth
  • Serve as the connective tissue of a cross-functional Credit Cards Core team to enable it to function effectively:
    • Lead strategic projects and operationalize them to move the business forward 
    • Track and measure performance of key cross-functional initiatives: establish and monitor KPIs and develop operational dashboards
    • Keep a pulse on key cross-functional initiatives and understand how they translate into lift and revenue impact 
    • Own the forum for discussion of the highest priority topics and for decision-making
  • Collaborate with the team and leverage data to inform, develop, and iterate on business strategy
  • Lead strategic planning and develop plans to achieve goals, as well as on resource prioritization and allocation
  • Own and lead business cases for new areas of investment and growth
  • Manage key communication and materials for the Executive Committee and company leadership
  • Lead market and competitive intelligence, to understand broader market trends and how it impacts Credit Karma 
  • Identify opportunities to leverage the platform, strategic partnerships and acquisitions to grow the business
  • Coach and mentor other BizOps team members and help deepen their impact at Credit Karma, as well as help guide them with their professional development

What’s great about the role:

  • You will serve on the leadership team of the largest business unit at Credit Karma, and influence the direction the vertical takes 
  • You will have high visibility within the organization and an immediate seat at the table
  • You will become the go-to expert on your vertical on matters both internal and external: cross-functional initiatives happening within the vertical, KPIs and business performance, the industry and competitive landscape
  • The role is highly cross-functional, which means you get to work with Product, Business Development, Marketing, Data Science, Financial Planning & Analysis, Corporate Development, and Engineering

Minimum Basic Requirements:

  • 10+ years of total work experience, 2+ years of which in management consulting, investment banking, business operations, corporate strategy or finance
  • Prior experience in managing others
  • BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • A detailed understanding and/or prior experience in the credit cards industry and/or consumer credit
  • Strong analytical chops and ability to problem-solve and understand key drivers of the business
  • Executive presence with the ability to develop a strong point of view on strategic priorities based on internal and external data
  • Excels in ambiguous environments: an ability to drive complex projects and develop processes with minimal guidance and oversight
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with ability to articulate, present and debate recommendations with all levels of management
  • Proactive and passionate self-starting general athlete with bias towards action and constant prioritization
  • Prior experience in consumer financial services, payments and/or financial technology 
  • MBA
