What does a great Business Analyst do?
In this role, you will be working directly with one of the leading Financial Services client to develop business requirements for IT Projects. You are engaged with the project through all phase of the software development cycle and work closely with the client, the application development department, and other individuals to successfully implement projects. Your job will be hands-on in performing business level process analysis using the accepted tools and methodologies as well as preparing functional specifications. You will also work alongside the development teams to provide iterative analysis of the detailed specifications and to provide a link between the business and the technology teams.

As a Business Analyst, you can look forward to:

  • Defining the business requirements / user stories for a given project.
  • Providing project management from scoping/business case through to launch; this includes effectively laying out the project in a project plan, organizing the project by task ownership, controlling the project by anticipating problems and pursuing resolutions, and ensuring a good communication plan is developed and executed.
  • Providing business analyses including analysis of competitors, operational efficiency and utilization.
  • Analyzing, conducting, planning and preparing plans and/or procedures that provide operational and/or technical support to business operations to achieve specific objectives.
  • Maintaining an ongoing interface with external and internal stakeholders in areas such as decision analysis, planning and execution and technical needs.
  • Building and maintaining, effective relationships with internal and external partners
  • Collecting, understanding and communicating business requirements for the project, and translating them into functional specifications and detailed test analysis that can be utilized by the solution development teams
  • Analyzing and detailing business processes
  • Documenting the results of business analysis and acquiring sign-off from client on the specifications
  • Crafting, specifying and executing test scenarios and test scripts
  • Supporting and developing BA's working within your project team


You're the kind of person who:

  • Has demonstrated evidence of analyzing and detailing complex business processes
  • Is experienced in writing requirements / user story specifications for Information Systems
  • Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability to work at all levels across projects
  • Has experience interacting directly with end users and clients
  • Has superb attention to detail, ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at a time
  • Is results-oriented, driven and capable of delivering results while working under tight deadlines
  • Has excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to a diverse audience


Basic Qualifications for Consideration:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, Computer Science or similar discipline preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in Business analysis
  • Previous experience working in Financial Services with knowledge of core Optis processing is preferred.
