Overview
Primary responsibility includes acting as a compliance matter subject expert on regulatory compliance-related issues, including but not limited to QM, TILA, HPML, HOEPA, state regulations, and compliance-related system rules.
Job Description

  • Monitors and answers all incoming compliance questions from Ops teams and Sales on loans currently in process, ensuring SLA of 2 hours is met for all inboxes monitored.
  • Keeps a log of all incoming emails and notifies management of trending issues.
  • Performs compliance reviews as needed; assists in the management of 3rd party reviews as applicable.
  • Researches and resolves issues that arise as a result of QC audits, 3rd party findings and investor repurchase issues; reports agree/disagree findings to senior management.
  • Recommends and makes changes to policies & procedures as needed.
  • Addresses operational risks within the fulfillment process; works to implement improvements and provide solutions to everyday compliance matters as they arise.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Perform other related duties and ad hoc research projects as required and assigned
  • Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization's desired culture and values.

Ideal Candidate will have the following:

  • 2 to 5 years' experience in a retail and/or wholesale mortgage lending environment is required, with a focus on compliance testing and closing preferred.
  • Knowledge of mortgage compliance regulations including TRID/TILA, QM, HOEPA, HMPL, Reg Z, Reg X & Dodd Frank is required.
  • Must be highly proficient in Excel and Word.
  • Must be a team player with strong attention to detail and able to work independently.
  • Proven track record at delivering timely and accurate information in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess excellent critical thinking, problem solving, mathematical skills and sound judgment.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to interface with executive management.
