WHY BOX NEEDS YOU
In the role of DR/BC Manager at Box, you will be working in the areas of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery with occasional support of the Crisis program. We're looking for someone to scale and enhance the DR/BC program to build resiliency at Box. Falling under Box's wider Enterprise Risk and Resiliency team, this role requires an understanding of DR/BC methodologies in the tech/SaaS space. You will work with all functions of this fast-paced, rapidly changing business, and directly with key stakeholders to drive continuous improvement. This includes creating DR/BC documentation, creating reports, and working closely with a wide range of internal departments on projects. The DR/BC Manager will be responsible for the development, oversight and coordination of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery program activities as well as providing Box with resiliency subject matter expertise as we explore DR capabilities in the Cloud.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Own and drive the strategic vision of the Disaster Recovery program, and co-lead Business Continuity program
Oversee a small team of contractors
Develop strong relationships with business and technology leaders and other business continuity and disaster recovery stakeholders to ensure an integrated approach to both planning and incident response activities
Ensure DR/BC program continues to meet Compliance certification requirements
Build out efficient and scalable templates, systems, processes, and program metrics
Provides expert guidance to and coordinates the efforts of relevant IT, Business, and other department leaders in developing and documenting recovery procedures
Effectively collaborate with IT and Engineering professionals in implementing sound disaster recovery related solutions
Assess third party software and vendor risk from a DR/BC viewpoint
Facilitate the production of documentation, process training, and arranging training for recovery procedures to employees
Perform risk analysis to identify points of vulnerability to assess the Box's resilience to withstand business disruption and recommend disaster avoidance and mitigation strategies
Oversee Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Plans, document preparedness status and reports to management and track status of any agreed remediation items to closure
Maintain and grow Box's DR/BC programs by providing training and awareness campaigns
Support the creation of white papers for customers, prospects, and Boxers to clearly understand program
Assist with other activities as required to develop and maintain the Resiliency Program, including occasional support of the Crisis program
WHO YOU ARE
5+ years experience in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery
Expertise in SaaS and/or cloud computing
Certification from DRII or BCI or similar a plus
Crisis management experience a plus
Thorough knowledge and understanding of business continuity and disaster recovery planning techniques, technologies and best practices, methods used in performing risk analyses and business impact analyses, as well as DR capabilities in the Cloud
Ability to influence and build relationships with a variety of stakeholders
Experience with BCM software and tools (Fusion Framework, Archer etc.)
Cross-functional project management experience
Willingness and flexibility to wear different hats and work on different areas where needed
Good organizational skills
Strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills
