Summary:
The Bump Form Operator's responsibility is to bend and/or straighten materials to the proper angles required by the customer or client.
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate a bump press (press brake) and select the correct tooling for specific projects.
• Load metal into the machine for shaping or straightening, aligning and positioning the material to achieve specific shapes.
• Perform assigned work to time standards and quality expectations.
• Utilize a variety of material lifting devices (cranes, positioners, magnets, hooks, etc.)
• Checks height, depth and thickness using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges and other precision-measuring instruments.
• Maintains specifications while operating machine, taking measurements; detecting errors; adjusting controls; adhering to safety procedures and regulations
• Examines completed workpieces for defects, such as chipped edges or marred surfaces and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience:

• Associates or technical school in related industry.

• Two or more years of experience in an equivalent position, preferably for an aerospace organization.

• Background knowledge of CATIA.

• Heavy work that includes moving objects up to 100 pounds or more.
