Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM is looking for an experienced Client Technical Professional (CTP) to represent IBM Maximo in a pre-sales role. As a member of the Watson Internet of Things Client Technical Professionals (CTP), you will drive the execution of all technical activities required in support of meeting revenue targets and supporting customers IoT business initiatives throughout the sales cycle.

As a CTP, it will be your responsibility to understand the customer's business and operational requirements and translate these requirements into the delivery of a compelling demonstration that will exceed expectations, and one that differentiates IBM from the competition. You will possess a deep understanding of the Watson IoT Asset Management platform; understanding of the technical architecture, as well as the cognitive analytics and business intelligence layers of the solution(s). You will work directly with the Sales team to identify opportunities and lead technical sales strategies to meet customer's requirements. You will articulate and demonstrate the value that IBM's Watson IoT solutions provide to our customers.

You provide technical sales support which may include: collaboration with IBM sales teams to define, design, and detail the technical aspects and feasibility of proposed solutions; lead and deliver Proof of Concepts; develop and deliver customized demonstrations; support critical situations; and answer technical questions. As a member of the sales team, you will be engaged in customer facing activities, be responsible for the technical accuracy of the proposed solution, and lead the technical aspects of the sale.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively in a dynamic team atmosphere. You must be self-motivated with a proven track record of consistently delivering strong business results and team success. In this customer facing role, strong oral and written communication and presentation skills are required. The role requires an organized and analytical individual, able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive technical approaches.

  • Proven ability to articulate and deliver compelling, industry focused, technical solutions and value propositions as it relates to asset management and cognitive solutions.
  • Clear understanding of business trends, issues and new IoT solutions.
  • In-depth, technical sales and/or software demonstration experience.
  • Proven collaboration and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across teams with varying skills, industry expertise and objectives.
  • Harvest and share reusable intellectual capital and IWMS experiences.
  • Proactively monitor and promote deployment of purchased software products to maximize deployment against targets and eliminate software reversals.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Driven and self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit and a commitment to excellence in everything they do.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 5+ years of experience in the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) industry
  • 5+ years of experience in delivering EAM Software Solution demonstrations
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) with associated qualifications
  • Understanding of EAM processes and product offerings
  • Experience with the IBM Maximo solution
  • Understanding of one or more markets/industries where EAM is essential to its operational side of its business.
  • Familiarity with the tools in the Maximo product line
  • Readiness to travel 50% travel annually
  • English: Fluent


Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Proven technical depth in foundational enterprise technologies such as operating systems (Linux and Windows), relational database tooling and organization (schema definitions, SQL, query execution), SOA orchestrators/busses (e.g. IBM Integration Bus), hypervisors (KVM, VMWare, Xen), business intelligence/reporting, and Enterprise Asset Management systems (Maximo)
