Candidate should have experience with civil works design and civil design software as well as understanding of 3D CAD modeling systems. Candidate would be expected to primarily focus on project related BIM coordination tasks, such as standards adherence, multi-discipline coordination, and model management. In addition, candidate would be a key project team member assisting with discipline specific production

Primary Responsibilities

In the role of BIM Model Coordinator, we'll count on you to:

  • Setting up new project files for multiple disciplines.
  • Assisting design staff with modeling issues.
  • Assisting with streamlining of design processes.
  • Maintaining & updating company/client BIM standards for graphics.
  • Define and communicate project requirements to both internal and external teams.
  • Implement BIM best practices for model management, BIM clash detection, BIM consulting, BIM process innovation, troubleshooting, training, specifications data.
  • Support design development and quality control by assisting in model coordination sessions. Identify where production errors can occur.
  • Coordinate in-process quality control checking.
  • Maintain quality control documentation for record keeping.
  • Design model setup with emphasis on quantity take-off and supporting cost estimating.
  • Participate in team training, skill development and shadowing, as needed.
  • Work closely with discipline leads to maintain consistency across projects, coordinate alternate approaches as project needs change.
  • Coordinates and communicates, both verbally and in writing, with design leads to obtain clarity of design and resolve clash detections.
  • Perform other duties as needed



Required Qualifications
• Associate or technical school degree, or combination of education and relevant experience
• 6+ years experience in civil design with BIM programs
• Requires good working knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, InRoads, OpenRoads Designer, LDD, and construction documents
• Land Desktop 2005 is desirable
• Requires a good working knowledge of BIM, construction documents and technical knowledge
• Excellent oral and written communication and documentation skills are essential
• Civil drafting background with underground utility experience
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Preferred Qualifications
• Facility (structural, piping and mechanical) experience
• Prior structural engineering CAD related project experience
