As the AV Systems Specialist you will provide your audio-visual expertise to be the main point of contact, support the set-up, execution for internal and external Coursera events. You will need the ability to set up, run and troubleshoot all general AV equipment (i.e video switchers, projection, audio mixers, lighting equipment and consoles), as well as the ability to set up, run and troubleshoot video conferencing and streaming equipment (i.e encoders, streaming software/hardware and basic network configurations). You will be responsible for maintaining the team’s roadmap from design/consultation to execution. Your contribution in helping to bring the Events Team to the next level is a high priority. You will lead the technical representation for our cross-functional partners and vendors to design, manage, and execute Coursera vision. You will utilize metrics to measure success, customer satisfaction, make strategic decisions, and help the team scale. You will partner with cross-functional teams, senior leadership and other regional leaders to ensure a consistent and exceptional AV experience across all of our pillar teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Support, administer and maintain all A/V and videoconference systems and services
  • Troubleshoot issues & support Coursera events both onsite and remotely
  • Produce user documentation and provide staff training
  • Provide subject matter expertise for online collaboration platforms including Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and other emerging technologies/products
  • Assess & recommend technologies, vendors, service providers and consultants
  • Drive innovation and best in class virtual work and collaboration technologies for the company

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • 3+ years of advanced-level experience in a similar role
  • Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) certification
  • Experience with videoconferencing, streaming equipment, and software. (BlueJeans, Zoom, Teams, Webex, Google Meet)
  • Experience with video conferencing and AV hardware and integrated systems: audio mics, sound mixing boards, Crestron, Zoom video conferencing, Polycom audio devices, LCD projectors. Audio/ video over IP + Dante experience. RTMP, RTSP, live stream etc.
  • Demonstrated experience with supporting C-level executives with video conferencing and Audio/Video solutions in on-site and virtual environments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Offsite event production management and planning experience
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and cross-functional dependencies among teams
  • Knowledge of IT best practices around data security 
  • Strong sense of urgency and an ability to prioritize effectively
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Proficiency in English and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to represent Coursera professionally in high-pressure situations, often supporting C-level executives and partners
