Sol Systems is seeking a Transaction Management Associate or Sr. Associate, to join our structured finance team. This individual will be a critical pillar of the team, responsible for project diligence and project/transaction management on acquisition and financing transactions spanning a range of development stages and capital sources. Depending on experience, the candidate may be asked to take full ownership of transaction closes, including running closing calls and checklists. This individual will have a central role in organizing the team’s efforts to ensure consistent execution of complex structured finance transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and perform due diligence on solar assets in multi-site portfolios including close coordination with internal and external subject matter experts and counsel
  • Own and maintain logs for all open diligence items and closing checklists during a transaction; help track conditions precedent for financings via trackers and checklist
  • Write detailed memos documenting the process for risk mitigation measures and strategies on specific asset risks
  • Understand and demonstrate comfortability navigating financial analysis and modeling for project risk assessment
  • Communicate and document project underwriting information for key clients and counterparties in reports, memos, and data rooms
  • Facilitate third party transaction diligence and closing, e.g., data room build-out and sharing, signature collection for closing documents, requesting reliance letters, coordination of flow of funds, etc.
  • Drive process, organization, and error-elimination efforts surrounding information management through the life cycle of a project
  • Partake in stakeholder relationship management and maintain positive, productive communication through challenging conversations

A successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1-3 years of project management or transactional experience, preference for renewables but not mandatory
  • Ability to thoughtfully communicate complex issues and problem-solve within a team, excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Creative, curious problem solver
  • Highly organized individual
  • Desire to solve complex questions and find a solid footing in the facts
  • Demonstrates commitment to excellence in professional endeavors
  • Results oriented self-starter with strong desire to grow and succeed; motivated to build something that you will own

Location & Hours: This is a full-time role and will be based in our Washington, DC office.

Commitment & Compensation: Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
