Why This Role Is Valuable
This position will support the Risk Management department in overseeing and managing key aspects of the deal process and document negotiation, such as insurance due diligence and placement, as well as loan review. This role will be expected to forge substantive relationships throughout Revantage, Blackstone, and other portfolio companies, as well as with various external stakeholder groups. It will be essential for the person in this role to possess excellent business judgment and an ability to identify and communicate risk in a clear and concise manner, as well as an ability to come up with creative proposed solutions to ensure that the reputation of Blackstone, Revantage and other portfolio companies for reasonability and thoughtfulness is maintained. Given the magnitude of growth and the high volume of transactions that must occur quickly, the successful candidate will be responsive to meeting quick deadlines, and able to manage complexity, as well as juggle multiple priorities. This position will also support the department business objectives and remain informed of the changes that occur within the company and recommend/execute changes to the program(s) as appropriate. This position is based out of Revantage's headquarters in Chicago, IL.
- Assist the Risk Management Transaction Team in executing our role on transactions.
- Establish new deal standards for estimate delivery, communication, tracking, and due diligence best practices
- Analyze current practices to identify ways to implement technology to streamline processes
- Manage broker relationships to develop processes allowing for prompt turnaround of deliverables
- Deliver high quality and clear risk management guidance as an integral part of a transactionally focused team; ensure Blackstone's risk management priorities and initiatives are addressed
- Partner closely with investment professionals to explain and evaluate the risks of any transaction, whether they arise in transaction documentation, diligence, or otherwise
- Train and develop portfolio company deal teams to be sensitized to risk management issues at the investment and organizational levels
- Create and implement policies and procedures; ensure adherence to governance, risk, and compliance programs
- Identify and troubleshoot trends related to lender compliance and deal characteristics
- Negotiate, write, review, catalog, and execute business agreements, contracts, and other legal agreements
WHAT YOU BRING TO THIS ROLE
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline from an accredited college
- Minimum of 3 years of property and liability insurance experience
- Strong quantitative skills
- First-class interpersonal skills, including relationship building & maintenance
- Excellent communication (verbal & written), numerical, presentation & organizational skills
- Demonstrate strong teamwork
- Effective reasoning and decision-making
- Strong negotiation and investigation skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and follow up in a timely manner
- Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where superior time-management and prioritization skills are essential
- Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office systems, particularly Excel
