About the job
The Red Hat North America (NA) Consulting team is looking for an Associate Manager for our Consultant Excellence team to join us remotely near a Red Hat office in the U.S. In this role, you will support a program that guides our consultants to be successful in the field and at Red Hat. As you provide mentorship, advocacy, and leadership to our consultants, your efforts will have an organizational impact as you support our consultants throughout their career development. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Be responsible for program development and leadership
  • Contribute to and refine programmatic efforts supporting the Consultant Excellence team as it continues to grow
  • Improve and revise program content and processes
  • Support the Red Hat Consulting team's recruitment and interviewing activities
  • Collaborate with various internal teams to expand and enhance the programmatic ties
  • Promote practices and processes developed in the program to the larger Red Hat Consulting teams
  • Serve as an ambassador of the Red Hat culture
  • Perform people management
  • Provide career path and promotion guidance
  • Encourage training and professional development
  • Serve as the voice of Red Hat's goals and objectives
  • Gather and provide regular feedback on what is working well and on the main areas for improvement
  • Provide recognition for achievements and milestones
  • Address performance and behavior challenges as necessary
  • Hold recurring one-on-one discussions and ad hoc meetings to ensure that associates have the support and guidance they need to succeed
  • Assume people management responsibilities for around 20 associates
  • Manage the onboarding of new Red Hat Consulting associates into the program
  • Work with the Resource Management Office (RMO) and other services managers on identifying projects that program associates can be assigned to


What you will bring

  • Solid interest in and experience performing people management activities
  • Experience running associate onboarding activities
  • Understanding of the technical consulting ecosystem and business model
  • Proven ability to work on your own, navigate a complex environment, and carry out plans with excellence in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time and workload management skills; ability to prioritize
  • Ability to deliver powerful messages in a professional work environment to all levels of Red Hat's associates
  • Knowledge of technical and software concepts
  • Very personable and enthusiastic
  • Comfortable working in and with a distributed team and willingness to travel periodically, following Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines
  • Passion for providing mentorship and leadership to others
  • Solid ability to take initiative and create, lead, and sustain program initiatives
