Advanced Technology has an opening for an Engineering Assoc. Director to lead the technology team supporting the Guidance Solutions organization within Mission Systems. The Technology Associate Director leads a diverse portfolio of projects and ensures all requirements are met and deliverables exceed the customers' expectations. The role provides leadership over low TRL (Technology Readiness Level
Hybrid work schedule consists of a combination of working onsite in Vergennes, VT and working remotely. Candidates need to have the ability to work onsite if needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advance state of the art technologies to support the business key strategic initiatives
  • Lead design and deployment of innovative solutions leveraging business unit engineering expertise.
  • Ensure the development of state of the art analytics tools and methodologies
  • Leads technology roadmapping events and supports the integration into product line strategies
  • Ensures the development and management of technical risks and develops and executes mitigation plans
  • Requirements management, systems integration and verification oversight
  • Drives overall technical execution of technology projects in the portfolio under his/her leadership to ensure all program requirements and objectives are met on schedule and within the authorized budget
  • Identify opportunities to advance the technology portfolio resulting in enhanced products to meet our customers future needs
  • Ensure compliance with international trade compliance polices and procedures
  • Ensures the protection of Collins Aerospace and safeguard of customer and supplier/partner intellectual property
  • Assist in growing talent, including discipline health across the technology organization


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have the ability to obtain a Security Clearance


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM))
  • Previous experience in a Research & Development environment
  • Previous experience writing proposals for externally-funded research
  • Previous management/leadership experience
