Our Opportunity :

The Chewy fulfillment network is seeking an Associate Director of FC Quality and Customer Experience to help scale our explosive growth.  This position requires a candidate with proven experience building large scale quality and inventory control programs and is able to drive results through the value stream.  This role will require analytical capabilities to set and manage goals, as well as strong written and verbal communication and partnerships across the business teams.  This person needs to be able to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment with both existing operations and additional site and process launches.  This role is technically and operationally oriented, candidate must have extensive experience in fulfillment operations to gain credibility with stakeholders and customers across levels of the organization.  This individual should be comfortable manage projects both directly and through others, as well as creating and guiding standard operating procedures.  This role requires intermediate Microsoft Office (Excel), basic SQL, and analytics tools, as well as statistics, DMAIC (Six Sigma) and Lean operations, and continue improvement experience are a plus.  Our team is made up of seasoned entrepreneurs and business executives with demonstrated success in growing world class companies.  We are passionate and results driven but down-to-earth. What You'll Do:

  • This role will demand travel >=40% to work with the operations team across the network and help build bandwidth for the network team when staffing constraints or gaps occur.
  • Previous experience in running a multi-site warehouse Inventory Control and Quality program; including KPI development, program development, compliance and operational execution, and process improvement
  • Track record of developing and executing LEAN and Six-Sigma initiatives that deliver results; with a history of delivering results
  • Has the ability to partner to build and execute on new initiatives with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Think Big and push the boundaries of the quality space and be unsatisfied with the status quo. The candidate needs to be able to develop and set the strategic roadmap for the quality space.
  • Manage cross-functional, remote teams.
  • Will compile, manage, and report on weekly project metrics and be responsible for leading meetings to align on status and support resources.


What You'll Need:

  • Previous experience doing analysis involving large and complex datasets related to inventory records, transactional data, warehouse operations, and customer shipment data.
  • Ability to clearly communicate to all levels of leadership results of IC and Quality KPIs and ongoing action items both verbally and written.
  • Ability to escalate when appropriate and willingness to do so. 
  • Familiarity with writing queries and pull datasets from tables to facilitate analysis
  • Microsoft Office expert, especially Excel including analysis toolbox, pivot tables, and complex functions.
  • Is comfortable collaborating and influencing team members, working with development teams and other business groups, and building support for projects with senior leadership.
  • Has fulfillment center operational skills to identify and implement solutions that scale with our growth
  • Ability to be self-directed with minimal oversight.
  • Previous experience with Statistics, DMAIC, and/or Continuous Improvement methodologies preferred.
  • A Bachelor’s or an equivalent degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong organizational, management, and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation and a desire to advise strategic company decisions
  • Desire to drive the business and your space like an entrepreneur that owns the business.
