The Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD) is a world-class engineering and scientific leader in electronics and cybersecurity engineering. The Cyber Defense Solutions Department (CDSD) resides within ISCD and focuses on critical cyber R&D and rapid prototyping in the areas of Defensive Cyber Operations, Hardware Security & Specialty Engineering, Reverse Engineering and Exploit Development, as well as Spacecraft Security. We support a variety of customers including the Space Force's Space Systems Command (SSC), the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), and other civil customers (e.g. NASA) in order to resolve unique challenges in implementation and research.
What You'll Be Doing
- Recruit, hire, mentor, and lead cyber security engineers and software developers to create cutting edge prototypes covering full spectrum cyber.
- Collaborate with outside organizations to provide technical support and outreach of CDSD technical capabilities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with program offices to advertise and sustain the department's activities.
- Develop and mentor engineering/section managers and other leaders within the department.
- Collaborate with other departments in the subdivision to develop new technical demonstrations and capabilities.
- Develop and execute the department's technical strategy and guide the department's research and development portfolio.
- Build and lead teams with appropriate skill sets and coordinate staffing and priorities to ensure excellent support to customers.
- Directly contribute to department's prototype efforts and/or perform cyber engineering support for programs.
- Assign resources, determine staffing needs, coordinate activities, and communicate with requisite stakeholders.
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's or advanced Degree from an accredited university in electrical engineering, computer science, or another related technical discipline.
- 8 or more years of relevant experience directly related to cyber security, software development, embedded systems, or similar fields.
- Demonstrated ability to provide departmental strategic and budget planning, workforce planning, recruiting, and staffing, succession planning, personnel development, and customer relationships.
- Previous management experience with highly technical staff.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal and working relationships with various levels of corporate staff, peers, management, program offices, customers, and contractors.
- Deep understanding in at least one of the following technical disciplines: network security monitoring, cyber forensics, penetration testing, reverse engineering, cloud security, hardware assurance, ASIC/FPGA security.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate employee performance, especially in a remote working environment.
- Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills for interactions at all organizational levels.
- Willing to travel domestically up to 25%.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.

- Cyber security related certifications from vendors such as: ISC2, SANS, CompTIA, EC-Council, AWS/Azure/Google, Offensive Security.
- Advanced degree from an accredited university in electrical engineering, computer science, cyber security, or another related discipline.
- Deep understanding in several of the following technical disciplines: network security monitoring, cyber forensics, penetration testing, reverse engineering, cloud security, hardware assurance, ASIC/FPGA security.
- Current and active Top-Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information access TS/SCI government clearance.
